Why is it that most (im not gonna say all) christians feel it necessary to get married when your really young. I know like 6 people who are under 23 and have all gotten married in the past 2 years. Im just curious as to what it is about your religion that makes you want to get married so young and before your ready to be married. Most of the christians I know are not finished school, dont have careers, and really cant afford to be married. I dont want anyone to take offence to this im just really really curious.

Eve is the one who ate the apple. Men are said to be the head of the household. Women are not supposed to hold positions of authority in the church. I've heard of more references that allude to this vision.

I admit that I am no Bible scholar, so maybe my interpretation is wrong, however these beliefs were taught to me in Sunday school as a child and teenager nonetheless.

I have a friend whose husband sat her down one day with a Bible in hand and flipped to certain scriptures (which ones I do not know) and then told her that based on those scriptures, she needed to start being more subserviant to him.

She said, "OK, I'll try." That's just crazy to me!

Will someone please provide Biblical proof that what I was taught as a child is wrong? Or if you feel it is correct, please elaborate on your views.

What are your thoughts?

This is one of the things the Bible has to say about tithing.

TITHE IS HOLY TO THE LORD

Notice Leviticus 27:28-31, -"Nevertheless, any proscribed thing which a man sets apart to the Lord out of all that he has, of man or animal or of the fields of his own property, shall not be sold or redeemed. Every proscribed thing is MOST HOLY to the Lord. No proscribed person who may have been set apart among men shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death. Thus the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree is THE LORD'S; it is HOLY to the Lord. If therefore, a man wishes to redeem part of his tithe (under the rules of redemption as stated in verses 9-13), he shall add to it one-fifth to it."

Seriously, If I wanted to hear religious rhetoric I would go to church, not to a site designed to answer my questions.

my theory goes.. god created all on earth. so that makes him a non terrestrial entity. an alien. jesus was an alien capable of healing and levitation. the bible was written to divert the mortals eyes from the obvious truth. all life on earth was/is an alien experiment. the pyramids, nazca lines, stonehenge all overseen by alien inteligence. mans giant leaps in technology from alien technology. why dont we see them? maybe because we dont know where to look, if they have technology so advanced dont you think they could stay out of sight? the chances of humans being the most advanced life form in the universe/s is borderline offensive. do you think all religion was created as a form of population control?

EVERY single time that actual historians and archaeologists have asked to see a SHRED of evidence to support his inane claim, he refuses or has some new excuse or lie to avoid actually having to produce such proof?
Now, wouldn't he be shouting it from the rooftops? Wouldn't he want to hand proof over to so-called "real" archaeologists and historians. Wouldn't a part-time treasure hunter be the first to produce proof if only to turn the archaelogical world on it's ear, not to mention bring a measure of proof to believers worldwide.
So, why then does he have an excuse or lie evertime an honest (and many of these people are christians themselves with a sincere desire to autheticate his findings not discredit) researcher comes to examine his find?
Simple. He's a liar and a fraud. The link below will show the MANY outlandish lies he's told about what he's "discovered".
Honestly, with people like this on your side, it's no wonder we consider you all flakes and liars...

God is a self-luminous point of subtle divine light. He has no human form or body. He is incorporeal.

His divine name is Shiva, meaning world benefactor. He is so named because of His divine attribute. Human names are only a means of identification; they do not indicate His attributes or actions.

I've had two accounts eliminated because some annonymous nazi pig decided they didn't like my questions and kept reporting me. Do you really think this is going to stop me or anyone else? Why don't you admit who you are?
Your neo-Stalinist tactics will not work.

My parents are very religious and I was raised that way as well, but I'm not into it the way they are. I don't hate it and I believe in it, I'm just not practicing the same way they are. They make me feel SO guilty about it and it's caused a lot of fights and strains on my relationship with my family and i HATE that because family is very important to me. But I feel that I shouldn't be guilted into religion, that I should want to do it of my own free will and not because they want me to. And I also know that if I go back to the faith with them I'll have to either leave my boyfriend who I also love very much or marry him WAY before we're ready (because just because you love someone doesn't mean you're ready to marry them. I'm only 20). Please help! I don't know what to do and I'm incredibly stressed out about it.

Jesus seemed like a pretty great guy. I mean he touched lepers, he helped poor people, he aided prostitutes, he turned the other cheek and he forgave well, everybody. So here's the rub, why don't his followers (that would be you) incorporate any of those values now? I mean it seems like (just an opinion mind you) there is alot of intolerance being practiced by Christians. I have seen cars with little fishes on the back pass by a homeless person in the street who seemed very down on his luck. So here's the question. Where did the fundamental values of Jesus go? And please I don't want to incur anyone's wrath, just curious...

I mean I’ve read the Bible and it’s used for guild lines not as a way of life and yet people insist on it being written in stone and when you call them on it they make up some other excuse as to why they don’t do that or the bible doesn’t say that?
