A personal relationship with Jesus, and any kind of sex outside of marriage, don't exactly "go together". Sure even though we have a relationship with Jesus, our flesh is weak and tempted, but the Bible clearly states in several places, that sex outside of marriage is SIN. If you truly have a personal relationship with Jesus, through prayer, and bible study, and faith you CAN overcome temptation. Here is one great scripture:

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 - NKJV

We are to keep our bodies pure & holy unto the Lord. Sex before marriage can and will open doors to all sorts of bondages. However, If you are married, i suppose the fact of practicing safe sex would be a personal decision depending on , weather or not you are ready to become parents!

I don't think this is a stupid question, many teens & adults probably wonder this if they are not being taught that sex before marriage is sin.

if you have a personal relationship with Jesus; that is, if He is your center and your source of joy then sex isn't an issue; it's for a husband and wife, only. However, if you've made a mistake and now are at risk (and are married) for sure be safe.

You should always practice safer sex regardless of your religious point of view. Its not a matter of whether I like it or not, its about your health and the health of the person you are with. In terms of the religious part of your question, you realize that there will be repercussions for your actions. Defying one's inner beliefs often creates turmoil. You may experience feelings of deep guilt and shame. Think about it very carefully.

It's wonderful that you have a personal relationship with Jesus, I applaud you. You should have safe sex, however because of 4 things:

1. prevent disease
2. prevent pregnancy
3. self respect
4 respect for your partner.

Hope this helps. My best to you!

Safe sex means that you AND your mate were both virgins when you got married and the both of you will REMAIN faithful to each other after the wedding ceremony. If you are both faithful and sexually pure to each other then you have no worries about sexually transmitted diseases.

I dont think Jesus could have approved of knowingly spreading disease. He'd probably advise you not to have sex outside marriage but if you did, he'd ask you to harm as few as possible by doing so.

Yes, if you practice it with your spouse.

Some people carry a sexually transmitted disease, and they were infected innocently. But they are responsible for not passing it on.
