My friend and his girlfreind had a kid about 4 years ago. they are now getting married. can they in the cathlic church?

If you have never been married at all, of course you can marry, regardless of how many children you have had out of wedlock!
This woman is probably free to marry in the church. The church is not judgmental regarding her child.
I was 'married' for 32 years to the father of my four grown children. We divorced. We got a church annulment. Now, even I can marry in the Church!
It is usually impossible to marry in the Church if the bride is pregnant. The reason is that ther Church does not want a marriage for convenience or a shot gun wedding. The priest usually advises the couple to wait until after the birth of the baby to have the Church wedding.

You can usually get a dispensation for just about anything, if you're willing to pay.
But, really, if these people were not married before, I think they can be married in the Catholic church. My husband's nephew had a similar situation. His girlfriend got pregnant, had the baby, and 4 months later they had a full church wedding, white gown and veil and all, and right after the wedding ceremony they had the baby's baptism. Now, those were interesting wedding photos :-)

It depends on the church. My friend was 6 mos pregnant when she married ( in a Catholic Church ). After several counseling sessions and a battery of compatibility tests they were deemed 'fit' to marry in the Catholic Church.

It depends. Some churches will rent the space for the money but will not participate in the cermony. Others will allow the wedding with minimal counseling. Some will require application for special dispensation fronm the Vatican and still others will just say no.
The only way is to ask the church or priest you wish to use.

If the person was not married in the rc church then there was no marriage at all (in their eyes)
The 4year old really does not matter to this situation.
EVERY situation even remotely like this would have to be OKs by the Bishop or Archbishop..... (bring $$$ for a contribution)

If they are Catholic, then yes.
I have a 3 yo with my current wife, and we got married in the Church.
Your friend and girlfriend will most likely need to go to confession (premarital sex is a sin) but yes

Depends on if they have child minding services. Im sure a catholic priest could look after him during the service.Although I wouldnt advise it.

Yes, they can get married after talking to a priest, and of course they can go to church too!

I don't see why they couldn't, but I don't know much about Roman Catholics.
