For christians... not being christian is a sin
for mulsims... eating Pork is a sin
For Hindus...eating beef is a sin
For Sikhs.. smoking is a sin
For Jain....killing insects is a sin
For atheists...being theist is a sin..

But is there any Act which is taken as SIN by all religions... (certainly I am not talking of Law of any country..but sin on a subtler levels)

We are spiritually dead, powerless to approach God on our own. An impassable and insurmountable barrier confines us. From the fall of Adam until the end of time no human being can escape the barrier. Because of Adam's decision to sin, the justice of God erected the barrier--only God can eliminate it. No human effort can release us from our prison. We are alienated from God. Apart from divine intervention, we all face condemnation and eternal seperation from God. The fact that this barrier exists is bad news. By one act of disobedience, man was trapped and became enslaved to a nature of sin. But through the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross, God opened the barrier to provide freedom from the slave market of sin-- very good news!

I am a Christian and have been for a long long time, and as such I know what awaits me when I die. I also love life, the challenges and excitement of finding out new things, but lately, I just wish I was dead so I could be free of it all. I am not likely to commit suicide as it would destroy the girl I love, but to be dead is very appealing. Is this wrong?

Please don't use this as an opportunity to bash the JWs.

Most JWs are good people.

Pray for them.

Just tell if you knew this and if you are going to inform your Christian friends about this.

From the JW website:

"The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is the archangel, Jesus Christ, also called Michael. Under his authority are seraphs, cherubs, and angels."

Atheist=No possible way there is a God
Agnostic=Might be a God, might not be a God, who cares?

Most "Atheist" I know seem to be open to the idea that there might or might not be a God, but do not really care.

That would therefore make them Agostic, would it not?
Then why claim to be an Atheist?

I respect many religons and i respect the fact that many people have morals and a sense of direction but, i just have a question about the heavon and hell part.

Why he create a world full of people? what was the point in that?
Why would he judge weather you go to heaven or hell? im sure if he loved us all, he would accept of unconditionally right?

Whats the difference between killing as a soidler and killing as a civilian (in God's eyes)? People always say its a sin to kill but if a soilder goes to another country and kill someone, i think its just as bad. even if its for yor country. Your polition leader told you to do it, not your god.

My last question is why would he send gay people to hell? if they are capable of loving why should they be judged so harshly?

ok thats my rant, let the bashing begin lol

Pastor Bill tells me that the Lord commanded him to build a casino in the Nevada desert and name it "The Pearly Gates". I know that he has a very close and personal relationship with the Lord since many of Pastor Bill's prophecies have come true. (He predicted the winner of American Idol.)
What would be the best way to aid in this noble and grand project? Should I get another job to contribute? What about if i went door to door asking people for support?

Martin Luther is one of the Fathers of the Protestant Reformation, but many people don't realize he was a Catholic Priest.

Further, many people don't realize that he developed a catechism in which he taught the following:

"As soon as you get out of bed in the morning, you should bless yourself with the sign of the Holy Cross and say: May the will of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be done! Amen.

Then, kneeling or standing, say the creed and pray the Lord's Prayer. "

So the question for all non-Catholic Christians (i.e. Protestants):

Since one of your Church Fathers taught this, why don't all non-Catholics use the Sign of the Holy Cross when they pray???

Seems like you should if one of your founding fathers taught you to...

I think my family could be doing more financially for god. From what I hear he needs every penny he can get. I've already made my 80 year old mother come out of retirement to contribute. (Though she doesn't make much since it is a non-union factory.)
I am working 3 jobs as it is and my wife has started selling pictures of herself on the internet just for a little added income. I know that showing pictures of yourself having intercourse on the net is probably a sin, but isn't it worth it if the church will have more money?

Ostensibly, he would have had to go around the world and pick out two of each species from each continent. In the case of solitary animals (like snakes), it might have taken some time to find one of each gender. And all the while he had to build that boat (with what money is anyone's guess). How many lifetimes do you think all that would have taken?

By this I mean, is it more important to believe what He said or did (i.e.live by His example)?or to believe He was the one and only son of God and came here and literely died so our sins would be forgiven?

Who is the God that purchases our freedom? He is one God existing in three separate and distinct personalities--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Whenever God is portrayed by the scripture as being one, that always refers to the same perfect essence inherent in all three members of the Godhead. Each person of the Godhead executes a different aspect of the divine plan for the liberation of mankind. The Father is the author of the redemptive plan; the Son is the executor of the plan, our Redeemer by virtue of His work on the cross; and the Holy Spirit is the revealer of the plan, the person through whom the power of redemption is conveyed. Therefore, God is one in essence but three in personality.

Just curious as to how some of you feel about what the Bible has to say about "markings of the body." This includes tattooing, piercing of the flesh, etc.

*FYI: I am Christian. I do have a tattoo, earrings, and a navel ring.
