By this I mean, is it more important to believe what He said or did (i.e.live by His example)?or to believe He was the one and only son of God and came here and literely died so our sins would be forgiven?

I truely feel that Jesus never meant for people to worship him. He was a leader. His message was shown through actions. Anyone can talk a good game, but Jesus played one. That was his purpose. He wanted to show us how nice things could be.

As for him being the only son of God. Well, how can we discount all the other religions. Do you notice that there are Jesus-like figures in all of these religions. I think this is becuase they all had reached a certain level. They were all great people and led by example.

So, we should believe what he did. But, do what you want and feel is right!

Both are important.

To believe in his wisdom gives us a role model by which to live our lives. There are those who live like Christ who have never heard of Him! Chrisitanity does not claim all the good people in this world. Following the life of Christ and his teachings, in my opinion, is the way to Heaven.

To believe he is the Son of God is also important. However, many who do believe this, or claim to, live much differently from how he would. Many don't think it is important to follow his example, as long as they 'believe' in him. Others really don't care what he would want.

It would be best to believe in the divinity of Christ while also trying to live a Christ-like life.

Believe that he is the only son of God and died on the cross to forgive our sins but if you believe that you will believe what he said and did and try to live by that. you should do both but you have to do the latter

Jesus could care less if you believe in him.

All that is important is that you understand what he was saying and live it.

Few actually do this. It requires a radically different interpretation of love from the one understood by most so-called believers. Most people see love as something that you keep in reserve only for those you have judged worthy of it.

This is not love at all. This is only judgment. Judgment is the exact opposite of what Jesus was teaching. Remember judge not lest yee be judged. Jesus asks us to love our neighbor. Notice that there is no accept for in this statement. Every one is intended to be included in this love Jesus ask us to have for our fellow man. This type of universal application of love requires no judgment on our part because Jesus’' intent was that no one be left out of it.

This is a difficult pill to swallow for any religion that thinks of it's self as being the one true and only correct way to God. This idea of exclusivity is the exact opposite of the message of inclusively that Jesus gave us.

Attaining the goals that Jesus set for us may be difficult within the constraints most religions impose. This is why many who seriously try to emulate the true teachings of Jesus in their lives do not ascribe to any particular religious following. They follow the truth in their hearts where Jesus has taken up residence.

Love and blessings.

Well, to believe what He said or did you would have to believe that He is the son of God, right? So my answer is both.

The words from the Bible speak of Jesus, though none come from Him. If you believe IN Jesus, you accept his existence and His miracles. If you believe Jesus, you are believing what mere men have wrote of Him. Confusing? Its meant to be that way :)

Both, but you have to believe in him and that he died for our sins in order to be saved, and go to Heaven.
