I've had my account for quite a while and it's possible that I'm the longest constant posting atheist on the board. If anyone wants to prove me wrong, we could reminisce about the "good old days" of Beta testing.
The best way to not get banned is to know the community guidelines very well and try to work within them. (Trust me I know how effing stupid that sounds.) It's also possible to get accounts reinstated if enough support is drummed up from the troops.

I am a Christian (of the Catholic variety) and I don't want to ban atheists from this category.
At the same time, I don't think it's too much to expect certain atheists to behave a bit more respectfully here.
Asking questions like, "Would you need to practice safe sex with Jesus if you have a personal relationship with him?" is not respectful at all, to put it mildly.
I suspect that your two accounts were eliminated because you constantly asked vulgar, disrespectful "questions" such as the one above.
So why don't you think about what you probably have done to get yourself banned, before blaming other people and their alleged "neo-Stalinist tactics."

I'm an atheist and yahoo hasn't banned me. Don't know what to say other than be extra careful about making sure your posts fit in the rules. Saying things like "nazi pig" probably isn't going to help much.

I won't report you because your right this site is for asking questions and if some one does't like it then they should move on. All this reporting stuff is way out of controle. Even if you try to ask or answer a question seriously then you get reported by some one that got offended and you have no way of deffending yourself. This is so wrong. Sorry that this has happened to you. Good luck with your new account.

follow the rules, you wont get banned. no matter how much they report you. but if your not asking religious or spiritual questions, you really should put it in another catagory. i have not read your ?'s, so im just speculating. but you should not have to believe in a higher being, just to ask questions in here about religion or spirituality. im not a lesbian, but ive asked ?'s in there about it.
and dont group me with other Christian, or religious ppl that may have a diff attitude towards you. Just because i'm Christian, does not mean i am a cookie cutter! We are all different.

ive got nothing agianst you. I sure didnt report you. some of my accounts were banned as well. sighs. the christians think because they are christian people should treat them like royalty, but when people dont give them the treatement they feel they deserve they get all bent out of shape. personally if they believe that only they go to heaven they should expect to be kicked in the nuts/t i t s so to speak.

Only Yahoo can ban your account.
I've had dozens of complaints but when someone reads it, they understand that the TOS have not been violated.
Only if you violate the Yahoo TOS can you be banned.

Because by it's very definition religion involves a higher being. As well spirituality. Atheism does not. Simple enough I would think.
