They interpret Hebrew 6:1-8 to refer to a Christian loosing his salvation. Yet, they believe a Christian can loose and then regain salvation over and over many times. They have painted themselves into a theological corner. This passage in Hebrews says, once they loose their salvation they can never get it back, it is impossible!

Say you came home from work and you found Jesus in bed with Mary Magdelene? What would you do? Would that be the end of your close personal relationship?

create mindless followers?
In other words...if you believe so strongly in a religion, do you block out reality?

These people did...

In Jonestown, Guyana, in 1978, followers of the Rev. Jim Jones killed a visiting congressman and three newsmen, then administered cyanide to themselves and their children in a 900-person suicide that shocked the world.

So why is it any differnet with Christians? If your Pastor said...I have received word from Heaven that the Devil is visiting tomorrow, and he is going to burn and rape you. The only way out is to kill ourselves first...what would you do? If you followed his word faithfully to that day, why would or wouldnt you follow now?

An omnipotent god who designs and creates a universe and everything in it, and who exists outside of that universe and outside of time, must surely know and intend everything that happens within it. So, how can theists claim that god is "not responsible" when humans commit terrible atrocities against other people? If their god is omnipotent and omniscient then he must be omni-responsible too, and they cannot absolve him of the responsibility for all the evil and suffering in the world.

If there was a god, and he was all powerfull etc, then how come he has failed to create a world that believes in him, or even one that functions well?
Maybe he realised what a bad job he did so he retired, thats why noone has written tales about him for hundreds of years.

Seriously, how do 'believers' justify a lack of godlyness all over the world?

Personally I've never regarded myself as a god - it would be rather ridiculous to do so as I don't believe in the existence of gods. I've never seen any other atheist claim to be a god either. So, can this claim from a theist have any validity?

2 You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. 3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did at Baal Peor; for the LORD your God has destroyed from among you all the men who followed Baal of Peor. 4 But you who held fast to the LORD your God are alive today, every one of you.

If suffering only exists because god cannot interfere without taking away our free will, which he supposedly values above all else, then why do theists hope and pray that their god will interfere to bring about good things in life, and claim that he does exactly that? Why the contradiction?

It seems to me that theists always try to construct their ideas about god in such a way that they will produce a universe which is indistinguishable from a universe in which no god actually exists.

Isnt this an oxymoron? Besides todays Jihads theres been hundreds before it...

Islamic jihads (holy wars), mandated by the Koran, killed millions over 12 centuries. In early years, Muslim armies spread the faith rapidly: east to India and west to Morocco. Then splintering sects branded other Muslims as infidels and declared jihads against them. The Kharijis battled Sunni rulers. The Azariqis decreed death to all "sinners" and their families. In 1804 a Sudanese holy man, Usman dan Fodio, waged a bloody jihad that broke the religious sway of the Sultan of Gobir. In the 1850s another Sudanese mystic, 'Umar al-Hajj, led a barbaric jihad to convert pagan African tribes -- with massacres, beheadings and a mass execution of 300 hostages. In the 1880s a third Sudanese holy man, Muhammad Ahmed, commanded a jihad that destroyed a 10,000-man Egyptian army and wiped out defenders of Khartoum led by British general Charles "Chinese" Gordon.

Are Jihads peaceful ways to an Islamic heaven?

i have to ask this because in a way i see evolution happening all over the place on a spiritual and physical level. we are in a age of evolution and i am going to point out a few of these things as i go here.

one. children at 5 to 6 years old females are getting "nubs" thats a evolution to its on point. boys at the age of 14 have growth spurts that leave stretch marks on there backs and are normaly growing as tall as 6 foot by the time they reach 16 or 17. those are the "physical" aspects of the evolution phase we are now in.

the spiritual evolution is a little harder to see but it is happening. has anyone notice that they are becoming more aware of them selves eating less or just more enlightened? thats the evolution of the soul that we have in us all.
