I think whynotaskdon is closer to the truth than anyone else!
No matter how you look at it, we can not know this! No more than the people of Pompey knew they would be uncovered hundreds of years later by we, who now know life

I am not sure about religious waxing about the then, future. I personally know there is a GOD, and hold a wonder about the things this bible sets down as rules for human behavior. ( if these things aren't inspired by GOD, they have to be written by some pretty smart people)

Apocalypse ! We have the ability to create an Apocalypse right now. We have nations leader who ( in my way of thinking) don't have a clue past their own reality. WE have people killing other people all the time. ( the devil has to be smiling)

Live your life, do the best you can. Help those who need help, and smile with your family! If the Apocalypse comes, you will be ready!

It depends what meaning you have given to the word Apocalypse.

Apocalypse is a Greek term applied to the disclosure to certain privileged persons of something hidden from the mass of humankind.

If this is the meaning you have given the word then it is happening all around you as we speak. Each day more people realise that the message Jesus had for us was love not judgment. They then change their actions to reflect this teaching.

In English, the word apocalypse is misused now and commonly refers to the end of the world. An interpretation that Interestingly, was not explicitly developed in the pre-apocalyptic books of the Hebrew Bible. So the existence of such beliefs in Judaism, Christianity and Islam may all be traced to apocalyptic writings that have nothing to do with the Christian Bible or the Koran.

Even so these ideas are promoted as truths that can be found in the scriptural context of the bible or the Koran even though they can not be found there, unless of course the term is misinterpreted.

Sorry about your cat,
There is no such event as what you call apocolypse. The word is greek, apocolypsos, and means "revelation". There is a book in the bible called "the revelation of Jesus Christ", or the apocolypse of Jesus Christ, commonly known as the Book of Revelations. The event you are asking about, is the return of the Christ (christ means annointed one, or chosen one), where it is written that He will gather His chosen from the earth, and burn up what is left behind. The bible clearly states that no man knows the hour of this event, not even the Christ Himself, but only God knows the timing of it. We are warned that He will come as a thief in the night, with absolutely no warning, and that men will be carrying on as usual, just as in the days of Noah. Business as usual, no sweat. Then, we will look up, and it will be all over. Those who have followed His path of love and obedience, to eternal life and peace. Those who have not, to something far worse. There is some argument about the eternal hellfire thing. However, whatever it is, it doesn't look good. The moral of the story is, don't wait for a sign or warning to get right with God. Then, it will be too late. That's what the bible says, anyway.

There is no book anywhere to tell us when. Not ever Nostradamus tried to fortell that. Christians say that it will occur in God's time, but that doesn't mean that they pass up the chance to make some extra money by writing and selling books predicting it.

The book of Revelation describes it as beginning of the tribulation period sometime after the Rapture of the Church. So, though no man can accurately tell when it's going to happen, I can say that sometime within 7 years after the Rapture, it's going to happen and we'll experience Hell on Earth like no one ever has before!

The one described in revelations has already happened historically.
I do think that it is more a decription on the internal battle within someone to find their inner Christ. You must first fight the war to clear your mind from all the dogmatic assertions, then you can become one with The Source.

Nobody can predict the future, in spite of all the claims of fortune tellers and psysics, anything said about what's going to happen in the near or distant future is pure guesswork.
