Seriously, looking at the Scott Peterson trial, why was he charged with murder of a fetus, when abortion is legal?

Is it kind of like the murder trial vs. the civil trial for Simpson and Robert Blake? In one hand your guilty in the other your not. or is that only the woman can kill the baby?

I'm just fishing for ansers for research!

(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.

I ain.t the sharpest tool in the shed but i thought it was all about having different gods. The whole thing is therefore STUPID. We evolved from apes, ate fish, got brainy, invented computers and can therfore do this crap on a friday night.

I am a Buddhist and have been offered to come and teach my insights regarding reforming Buddhism for the modern world in Nepal. The catch is-i have to go next month but they shall pay for my flight in order to help spread Dharma.
Website is www.newbuddhism.org and i must have a decision as to go soon to a country in which i dont speak the language, to a person i've only been in dialogue with in Buddhist matters without a vast amount of money with which to make a ready retreat should it go badly wrong.
In telling me what you think bear in mind i am a very adventurous person so this seems exhilirating also.

I think a religion is about an ideal, not a god or a set of rules. More a way of leading a better life.
Religion should teach people to be better.
My religion involves a balance of being rewarded for the work you do (no footballers getting £100,000 a week!), but also being encouraged to give to those who can't help themselves - the mentally ill, chronically disabled etc.
I'd love everyone to be a vegetarian (I'm an animal lover, but I also read a very good argument in The Guardian about saving land, feeding more people etc).
Evolution IS how it happened. Renewable energy is the only way forward.
George Bush should be charged with War Crimes.
Those who abuse others should be given sufficiant punishment, but I'd like rehabilitation also.
Paedophiles need to be understood, mental illnesses don't go away with prison time.
Alcohol is fine but don't assault people while you're drunk!
We should use the earth to live, not abuse it.
The rain forest may hold the cure for aids!

My dad's side of the family is Conservative and I constantly hear them talking about how Islam is not a peaceful religion, but goes on about how they must kill all non-believers. I also hear about this on Conservative news channels.
Now here is my question. Has anyone ever actually read the Koran and does it actually say that all non-believers must be killed or is that just something that is said my Islamic Terrorists?

Since Catholics give up meat on Fridays during Lent as a sacrafice, are vegetarian Catholics REQUIRED to eat meat during Lent as a sacrafice? (or is that just another arbitrary rule, like fasting 1 hour before receiving communion?)

There are so many questions about "Why do you believe in God?" or "Why should I believe in Christianity/Muslim/Hindu/etc." What I want to know is if ANYONE who has EVER asked or answered that kind of a question has ever had their opinion changed? the bible comes from with out just listening to what your paster tells u what is thruth and to just u never mind there all just sinners ,or nonbelievers,saitain ,evil,bad bad.i challange any christain to look for the oldest forms of the new testoment,the words my ,my,my not one story the same,nor are there,there any origonal writtings scrolls ect,ect,u are all fools as like my horrible spelling,and writting style,find truth thats what we were all taught. watch as u dig to find the answers,that they will shun u .i challenge any off u to take of the blinders of god and see reason .

this is from the NEW testament. and this is what JESUS supposedly said.

christians often defend the bible. but if it says stuff like this, then why should we?

also,,, if you're gonna use the excuse that it's just a metaphor, then please elaborate as to what exactly it is a metaphor to. because to me it seems pretty literal.
