ALOT of muslims use this verse as means to beat their wives with a small stick.

Unfortunately, Job--as depicted in the Qu'ran, is taken from a story from the Old Testament. Without the clarification from the Old Testament, the Qu'ran's version would be extremely sketchy and unclear.

It does not matter what Allah told job to do. It is history and gone...written in an ancient book by humans that did not know about modern medicine, plate tectonics, atmospheric science, etc... What does matter though is the quality of life we create for ourselves and other people today and tomorrow for the rest of our lives. Instead of reading ancient books written by the uninformed why not try studying how to earn a living by curing the sick and healing the blind through educating yourself in modern medicine and research.
Smiting others is a good indication that the quality of life has been reduced to...smiting. Unless of course if you perceive smiting as high quality...which might be useful if being attacked by a force motivated to reduce the quality of your life. A man smiting his wife...in my opinion...is a good indicator of a man reducing the quality of his family's life...under almost all circumstances.

Allah, as is tradition is an impersonal deity with an arbitrary standard toward men. They may live, they may die, it's up to Allah with no regard to what type of person they may be. They may be condemned or rewarded, it's up to Allah. According to the Qur'an, why would it matter if women were beaten if Allah so decreed. The God of the Torah, the God Jesus exhibits is a God of love that is full of grace and mercy. Understand and know the Lord God Jehovah and you will know the true nature of God and see that this act is a senseless brutality not consistent with who God is.

you have to know the story of the life of job(ayuub) in order to understand the story. ayuub had in his life became very sick and his wife had cut of two braids of her hair and sold them to pay for there needs in food and ect. . ayuub became very mad at his wife because he loved her so much he didn't want her to give up her hair because long hair was fashionable at there time and he wanted her to look nice so what he did was swear to punish her by wipping her a hundred times. In the end of the story though, he fullfilled his vow to god by throwing a bunch of grass on her because technically that was wiping her. next time when you want to ask a question like this, ask an islamic website. Allah didn't tell Job anything, if anyone was talking to Job it was God, and He certainly didn't tell Job to hit his wife. Actually, after all Job's trials, his wife had already died, it was one of the trials, his kids all died too.
