Yes.We should be very respectful toward Muslims and Pagans and Liberal Christians. They get the worst disrespect because Muslims are seen as terrorists and Pagans are seen as sinful and Liberal Christians like me are seen as supporters of sin. When will people learn that having respect means not insulting but agreeing to disagree?Answer: never because hate dominates the majority on many issues.

i don't see much chance of tolerance prevailing-i mean, look at some of the posts you've gotten just on this question-i've found that respecting others flows from having a measure of self-respect...

Personally, I think that when the irrrational superstitious nonsense, myths, delusions and willful ignorance that are exemplified by dogmatic religious beliefs are openly expressed in a public forum such as this, and proclaimed to be 'truth', they need to be confronted and opposed at every opportunity, and heaped with as much scorn and ridicule as possible,
However, I think it is essential that we respect individuals' rights, in the privacy of their own minds, to delude themselves in whatever manner they deem fit.

I am extremely sick of it, but I am afraid there is no way to get the message of tolerance out to all here: there are always going to be ignorant people in this world, we just have to learn how to ignore them.

Your not. Jesus said Himself. Stay away from such people. Why are you even here to begin with? You can can take a STAND, or get ran over. This is not a church site my friend.
State your case or belief and go to the next question.
Good Luck.

I definitely am. Unfortunately, this battle has raged since the dawn of man. A lot of people simply can't stand to read or see or hear anything that differs from what they believe. I don't really see an end to it.

I agree that the conversations on here should be a lot more civil. Most of us I think are adults, and those of us who aren't are old enough to know better. I don't think we're really going to convince people to change their tone.
That said, I think there is definitely room for vigorous debate and disagreement!

It's annoying, but easy enough to ignore. Just skip over those things you don't want to see. ^_^
Those who show deep disrespect for the rights of others to believe as they wish, really don't deserve any respect for themselves. IMLO. If you want respect like that, then you should show that kind of respect for others (even if you would really like to choke them till they passed out)

Yes. There's not much we can do except be respectful to them and hope they pick up on it.
Best wishes.
