I mean, they say that God loves everybody, but I'm thinking, maybe once in awhile He/She creates a person and says, "I don't love you. I'm just going to f**k with you. You are in for a life of misery."

I'm not claiming to be such a person; actually I am quite happy with my blessings. Just wondering because if God wants to do that, He/She is perfectly entitled. And don't tell me God wouldn't do that; you don't know God's motivations, and it is not your place to judge God's actions as right or wrong.

Buddhism is one of the most peaceful religions, but during a visit to sri Lanka i got to know the violant nature of the buddhists monks and the people who follow this religion in sri lanka. Buddhists are burning down churches and persecuting christians and other minority groups in that country.
how come the followers of such a peaceful religion can be so violant?

so there fore they have a thought concept of a higher power but they think that it isnt doin or giving them what they want so they want to be a god or their own god and thus meaning they do believe in god. i mean they have this thought of what god should be ( under their control of course )or this thought of a concept of what god is or isnt to other people and then they call themselves non believers or atheists. so the real question is how (if you are a non believer , and it dont have to be my god ) did your god fail you and why did you give up on it ?

I found it very odd, that only 1 true atheist mother answered my poll. Sure maybe a few are putting the kids down for the night, but still why do you think the number is so low? In my personal life, I never believed in God more than after giving birth to a beautiful perfect baby. Maybe until you experience the miracle of birth you just can't be sure.

The theme of my church's vacation bible school this year is God's family and the reunion with him in heaven. We are looking for craft ideas that focus on the theme and are interesting and fun for the children. The neighborhood is in the inner city and alot of the children that come are not used to coming to church. They come to have something different to do. As part of our youth ministry I am looking for ideas that will reach the children but not bore them.
We are also looking for ideas on crafts for boys. It is easy to find crafts for girls but we need something that will minister to the needs of boys particularly ages7 and up. Please share your thoughts.
