you can't. a lot of people don't choose not to believe. i lost my faith in god a few years ago. i try to turn back, but whenever i do, i get more frustrated. i attended a catholic school for 8 years, and i went to church as much as i could. no matter how much i try to live my life god's way, i always end up wondering why i have never felt him. why can't i be happy? i've suferred so much the last 6 years, im done. i have always put my life, and my on problem aside. but when i need someone the most, i,m left with unaswered prayers. if anyone thinks there is something you can say to make me even think god loves me, then IM me. ---- god!

If I am discussing things with an atheist. I make the statement that I might be totally wrong in everything I believe; the Bible, a fairy tale, Jesus nothing but a guy who died a couple thousand years ago, God; what a concept....all of it completely wrong. Nothing right about anything I believe. BUT....given that salvation is freely given and you only have to believe on Jesus as your Savior and truly ask forgiveness of your sins THEN...What if I'm not right?????

Why do you feel the need to convince anyone other than yourself?

Why not live and let live? I am sure that the atheist in question fully knows where to look if he/she ever has any desire to become religious. Or do you live in a country where Christianity is forbidden and information about it would not be widely available to all who seek it? The atheist would probably be just as irritated about you pushing your beliefs on him/her as you would be with them if they were to try to force their beliefs on you. With this in mind, you could try treating the atheist (and others) as you would want to be treated. You could give them the same respect for their beliefs that you would want them to give to you.

The universe could not exist without a God. All of the mass in the universe originated from the Big Bang (this was the booming voice of God saying “Let there be light”), and this mass needed a point of origin. Something that transcends the physical universe had to create all of that matter and energy; the laws of physics require it, since neither mass nor energy can be created or destroyed, but can only change form.

Atheists are typically rational people who have come to their conclusions by way of reason and critical thought. Atheists typically know a lot more about the bible and the ACTUAL history of religion than Christians do. Christian beliefs, however, amount to no more than superstition and fairy tales... the equivalent of Santa Claus for adults... based upon absolutely NO credible evidence.

Rather than trying to convince your friend that god exists, you should open your mind, employ reason, and consider the alternative possibilities. You will find that the alternatives make much more sense, and they are backed up by actual knowledge, facts and evidence.

"A thorough reading and understanding of the Bible is the surest path to atheism."  ~ Donald Morgan

No one can convince anyone of something like this. Only God can change a person's hardened heart, by his Holy Spirit. So it would be best to spend much time in prayer for this person.

You might not be able to convince the atheist now, but you will plant a seed in them that might grow one day. Maybe not today, or next week, but sometime.

Have God appear in person and tell that athiest that he is for real. Or you could just try to convice him to be a blind follower who believes anything they are told, just like you.

Wow, www.wayofthemaster.com, now you can learn to lure people to Christ and quit that low paying job at the same time. Have you ever wanted to tell your boss to buzz off and be forgiven for all of your sins while not having to further your education at all?

Now, for only $19.99, you too can become a millionaire and be guaranteed entry into heaven. Move over Carlton Sheets, stand back Don Lepre, back off Tony Robbins. Now it's time for Way of the Master. Just "Try it and Buy it". You're practically a God already.

You can't. It's the Holy Spirit's job you are trying to do. Live your life in truth, be a good witness in your lifestyle. This person is watching you. You represent Christ to him/her. Don't be a phony. Be sincere. If you can't answer a particular question, let them know you'll research it and get back to them.

Have an answer for every man who asks you.

God gives us all free will to accept Him or not. You can pray and you can love the individual, but it will be up to God to change their heart and the atheist to choose what to believe.
