Perhaps my previous question was a bit unclear. It was this. What should we do with the atheist habit of twisting the scriptures ? Also, does anyone have the guts to read that site I posted ? Also, did anyone notice the utter venomous responses to my questions? Also, why are the (mean ones ) atheists so crabby .? Also, if they dont want " religion " to be spoken to them..why then gosh darn willakers are they in the religious section ? sometimes ? Sorry but it just escapes me. http://www.beitshalom.org/articulo.aspx?c=170 P. S> Did you also notice their responses always refer to mental illness, drugs and other debased behavior ? ( lol .hahahahahaaaa). j/k

Christianity and the bible are the only things in this world that gives people a solution to life. You see, if there is a solution to a problem and we use that solution, the problem is eliminated. It's very simple becuz there is a simple explanation for everything in this world. God gives us a solution to all our problems but people are so confused and ignorant that they don't see the truth in front of them, which is found in the scriptures.

It just seems that with all the religious violence in the world and all the distrust between gvmt and religion in this country that it might be logical to keep religion in the church and keep it out of the hands of kids. If a child wants to know aboutreligion, he or she should learn it from his or her parents.

our public institutions do not need to promote things so controversial

We have times that we share our religious services with other local churches of different denomations. On one ocassion we all met at a Baptist church and were praising the Lord in our way. After the service we were having a meal with the other folks and a woman who was a member of the Baptist church came to me and said "I love that you all praise the Lord by holding up your hands etc., but our pastor does not allow that in our church. I do believe that if you are not disorderly etc. that you should be able to Praise Him the way you do in your home church. What do you think of the actions of this Pastor?

when 9\11 took place some ppl in the west and media related islam with terrorism even without understanding it or learning about it
focus only on the fanatics while horrible events took place also under the name of christianity but none said or related christianity with terrorism for example crusade wars
THIS DOESNT MEAN I THINK WE SHOULD RELATED christianity with it but all what i mean we should not related fanatics actions to any religion whether islam or christianity or anything else

Ok, I asked the question "Where was God before Heaven?" And all these answers have me curious now...

If God created EVERYTHING, then He created Heaven, right? Didn't God also create "everything" and also create "nothing"? So how could He exist before nothing? It doesn't make any sense, and I don't think anyone is going to give me a good answer*.

I am an atheist but I'm not trying to flame religion. I know, I know...you may all gasp now :) I am just trying to get a better understanding of what people believe about God.

*Note: Good answers aren't "go read the bible" or "have faith" or "I don't know" or things of that nature.

ok so I have no clue what to do I am not a christian myself but myfriend is becoming a christian and now I have no problem with that yay for him he can do what he wants it's his life but the problem is that h'es gone over board with it and it's ruining 7 years of friendship. We are like brother and would do anything for each other he was christian when we first met but it was ok he kept it to himself and didn't force it on me and for about the past maybe 4 or 5 years he really hasn't been a christian I mean he believed in god but it wasn't like before. Now all of a sudden out of no where he's liek trying to make up the 4 or 5 years and it's ruining us. I can't listen to my music when I'm with him because it's not christian. He's told me not to swear when I'm with him. I can't say anything like oh god with out him flipping out at me. The otherday I gave him a car magazine that ne normally loves he's like me and loves cars and he told me no thanks .... more to come

How can I justify the following:

The Joseph Smith translation of the Bible clearly teaches against witnessing to others:

Matt. 7: 9-11 Do not share the mysteries of the kingdom with the world.

Which is in clear contradiction to Jesus' own words that instruct all of us to go and teach everyone:

Matt. 28: 19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mark 16: 15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
