I am sure all the Buddhists and Muslims of the world will really agree with you. Does the bible explain or mention dinosaurs? How many wars have been fought over religious beliefs? How many people will continue to die for thier beliefs? The Middle East is a hotbed of peace and serenity. Oh yeah, religion is a real problem solver! There are all forms of ignorance. The real solution is honesty, trust, and respect. The killing will stop when we all respect each other.

It may have solved problems for you but many see it as the cause of a lot of problems. Anyway You don't need Religion. If God wants to tell you something He is perfectly capable of telling you directly.
Maybe you should stop reading what other people have to say about God and ask him to tell you what he wants you to do directly. Stop reading; clear you mind and listen. When you pray get your babbling over as soon as possible and listen. He is trying to talk to you but your mind is full of nonsense from the bible.
In your bible study have you ever heard of the small still voice? You can't hear it if your mind is otherwise occupied with other people’s silly ideas about God. Scripture is fine but it is no substitute for direct inner guidance. Just try it Bryan you will be surprised .

i'm not sure there is a simple solution to everything. Christ prayed in the garden that if there were any other way...but there was not. The solution of God becoming incarnate and dying for the sins of humanity is complex; as complex as the problem humanity finds themselves in. Born into a life without understanding where they came from. Offered many different "answers" but with little sure guidance as to which, if any of these answers is correct. It is more complex than we'd like to think.

If you studied history you would see that religion has caused most of the wars and disagreements in the world. Now, how the heck is THAT a problem solver? You only THINK it is a problem solver if everyone would believe the same way as YOU.

Religion? Hmm I don't know. It depends on what the religion teaches about God and the bible. Some aren't able to grasp the correct meaning of the bible. However, that aside, I completely agree. Living life by BIBLE standards is truely the best way to live. The bible is like Gods letter to his children. It directs every aspect of life if you truely understand it's meaning and meditate on it. In that aspect, you couldn't be more right.

Religion is the leading cause of war - it's a 100% problem causer. Here's a nice quote from the bible;
1Tim 2:11-1211 "Let a woman* learn in silence with full submission. 12I permit no woman* to teach or to have authority over a man;* she is to keep silent"
Problem solver my @ss, are you retarded? Is that not sexism?

Maybe people don't see religion as a problem solver since it's used so often to justify incredibly vile acts.

The question is, for who?
I grew up as a Catholic and during most of my adult life I joined other denominations only to end up disappointed because of the hypocrisy around.
I'm happier and more secure in my life because the experiences I have had have enabled me to think for myself and draw my own conclusions.
I still believe in a higher power. The difference is that it is a relationship between the two of us that no third party is allowed in.

What about the other religions? Some ppl see a different religion as a problem-solver, or law, or love....There are different beliefs. That's great you have yours, but its NOT for everyone.

well its like this not all people understand things the same way. also what works for one dosent always work for another. dont get me wrong im a christian and i believe in the bible. but people are different. calling people ignorant is passing judgement. there are times when you must accept peoples differences. its what makes the world interesting.
