Perhaps my previous question was a bit unclear. It was this. What should we do with the atheist habit of twisting the scriptures ? Also, does anyone have the guts to read that site I posted ? Also, did anyone notice the utter venomous responses to my questions? Also, why are the (mean ones ) atheists so crabby .? Also, if they dont want " religion " to be spoken to them..why then gosh darn willakers are they in the religious section ? sometimes ? Sorry but it just escapes me. http://www.beitshalom.org/articulo.aspx?c=170 P. S> Did you also notice their responses always refer to mental illness, drugs and other debased behavior ? ( lol .hahahahahaaaa). j/k

Your mind is closed. End of story. Nobody twists the scriptures more than believers. Shove things under the rug. Claim mistranslation. Fall back on the old standbys of "The devil has the power to quote scripture," and "Christ said we would be persecuted for our beliefs."

Now. You post comments and questions in a public forum. You have to expect the whole range of responses, from the whole range of opinion. And postings in the religion section do not just show up in the religion section, they show up on the home page along with everything else - go figure.

I would prefer that people who don't agree with you state their case in a civilized manner, but they don't. You'll just have to develop a thicker skin.

And try to see that a question in the form of "What should we do about the atheist habit of twisting the scriptures" is provocative.

What is also funny is all the "Christians" that are condemning. This is not what Jesus called us for. We are to love them anyway. They are in the religious section seeking real answers. We are to be the Light. When you turn on the light switch in a dark room the darkness vanishes. We are also supposed to be the salt of the earth. This makes people thirst for the truth. Salt is also a preservative. It may not seem like the things you say to them are reaching them, but you planted a seed in their life. Just make sure it is a loving seed. God will then place others in this persons life to till their field and water that seed. It will begin to grow. The Devil is a liar. He comes only to steal, kill, and destroy all God has. this is why they twist scriptures. Most of them haven't read the bible, they just take the opinion of others and believe that. Thank God everyday that you have seen his grace and mercy. Ask that He helps you to help others experience Him.
May God Bless You.

I found the site intriguing. There are several articles i want to get back to when i get home from work tomorrow. The trouble with the scriptures, however, is not just atheists, but everyone seems to be twisting scripture for their own purposes. Why do you think that the Jewish, catholic, and protestant 10 commandments are all different.

Athiests tend to be crabby becuase there are a lot of bible humpers that insist that they're going to hell, that the only way to the light is Christ, that if they don't join the church, repent their sins, give money to the church coffers and hail mary, they're going to die and burn in hell for eternity.

Wouldn't you be a tad cranky if the bible humping christians came after you like a pack of holy-water soaked dogs?

That's why I get foul over some religious questions.

To answer your question: I don't like to be preached to. The reason I'm here is I do like to know other people's opinion, as well as give my own. I feel there is nothing more satisfying than a well educated, intellectual debate with both sides acting maturely and, well, educated. My favorite topic of choice happens to be religion.

atheists aren't the only ones who twist the scriptures. 'christians'do a good job of that too. If a valid question is asked the responses are often a bible tract taken out of context or totally irrelevant to the question. If they cannot manage this, the response is read the bible.

in addition to this, 'christians' try to twist scientific method to suit themselves

The first question should be, "What should we do with the Christians who twist the Scriptures and why are so many of them so crabby?"

You question was diamond-clear, and I did! I did notice that responses to your questions almost always refer to mental illness, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the 'knowledge from the Abyss', and abnormal behavior. Don't worry about it, Olive Flower.

Now let me ask you a question. Can you tell us more about the 'ADVANCED WEAPONRY OF DELIVERANCE AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE' as taught by Rabbi Dam? That's what I am really interested in. 'Advanced weaponry' sounds like 'Advanced Dungeons & Dragons' or something, and I am very curious about 'Spiritual Warfare' too.

Today, try this out: LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE SUN. It's difficult, because we kind of get used to it ever since we are born. It's like an electric sound of sorts, something like a white noise, but there is music in it, little voices like those of the shamans from Siberia, flute-voices, angel-voices, and they sing the most beautiful things. EVERY MAN, EVERY WOMAN IS A SONG.

"What should we do with the atheist habit of twisting the scriptures ?"

Clean your own house before you clean mine. I've seen an equal number of Christians twist scripture to the point of blasphemy.

Do this first, then we can talk.
