I attended a Hindu wedding and the Gazebo which couples are married on has a particular name, which I cannot remember. The structure has a beautiful culmination of spiritual meanings and I hope you can share them with me.

The structure is elevated to be closer to God.
The four Pillars represent the Four Directions.
The Roof represents the Universe ... and so on.

Could you please completely explain this beautiful, meaninful structure to me?

It is obvious most of the stories in the Bible are either metaphors or parables and not actual fact. But the point of the Bible, in my opinion, is to show people how to live life to the fullest and make life easier for others. I dont think it really matters whether you believe the stories or do what God tells you to do. It's all up to you whether you want a happy life or not, and has nothing to do with the afterlife(heaven or hell). I think whoever wrote about heaven or hell misunderstood the point of what Jesus was teaching. What do you think?

A friend told me that her son was in a traffic accident recently.In fact, she had just come from taking him to therapy.She said that he was pronounced dead at the scene and left by the paramedics because they did not find a pulse .He had also lost a lot of blood from a big gash.He went through the windshield!.The idea was to call the morticians.However a friend shook her son and he began to breathe.Now he is walking around (with stitches).. Is this just a coincidence/mistake or are the dead still raised to life. She has suggested to him to read his Bible and seek the plan of God for his life. The mother calls it a miracle.The son has not been receptive to her suggestion.What do you think?

i find a connection between the filter tip of a cigrette and the mother's nipple. none of us want to let go of love and when we lose love we in turn resort to gaining it in some way. That's why people smoke. can i be correct?

Having lost my mother , a cousin and friends over the last year, the inevitability of death has consumed my thoughts as I age into my 40's. A light turned on in my head in regards to this which brought me to the realization that "Religion" is one of the ways that we deal with death.

ive been given the task to find out if religion has ever been the sole motivation for conflict. war has been declared on religious grounds but when you pull it all apart it has been in the name of religion but for the reason of power or econimic gain. i would appreciate factual answers as i have no education in this area.

Try to answer this question as though you had no prior knowledge as to what others think about what God is or is not. Try to imagine that you were raised on some lost Pacific island in a society that never spoke of such things but simply relied on five senses and lived according to the demands of the natural world around them. How would they see a culture that depends on subscription to man made religion for it's moral bearings?

These stories were based on stories that were told centuries earlier. Had their academic knowledge been developed to a higher level, How different do you think the bible would be?
