In John 2 v13-17. It says that Jesus found in the temple people selling things. That he made a scourge of small cords and drove the people and animals out. If getting mad is a sin. Then wouldn't you think that Jesus got mad too? That Jesus himself committed a sin?

Anyone who's always talking about being saved is scared out of their mind. In order to feel that you are saved, what had to come first is a threat because if there's no threat, there's nothing to get saved from. Threat + saved = fear based

FACE IT. YOUR BELIEF IS FEAR BASED

"Seek in every way to become childlike. Seek, seek, seek until you find, until the years have added to your nature that of a trusting child. Not only for its simple trust must you copy the child-like spirit, but for its joy in life, its ready laughter, its lack of criticism, its desire to share with all men. ask much that you may become as little children, friendly and loving towards all -- not critical, not fearful."

"Except ye ... become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."

What is the whole story of scientology?

I don't understand how there are even grounds to debate this, as all tangable evidence supports evolution. Religions themselves are just story book social clubs. How many major religions are there around the world? Have each of us been lucky enough to have been born into the right one? Should I sit here and believe that just because they lived 2.5 Million years ago, that Hobo Habilis, an early human being, would be sentenced to an after life of hell or purgatory simple due to the fact that Jesus Christ wasn't around yet to spread the word of God, therefore they could have lived a life of sin? Why should I buy into this mythical being known as God, or Buddha, or in the case of the acient Greeks, several different Gods? Religion was created to keep order in this word. By instilling in everyones mind that there are greater consequences than to that of our phyical being, consequences which are so unfortunate and unreversible, we as humans strive to abide to our religions rules...

If we are all one at the soul level, then this is most important truth of humanity. If we are all one, then how can we hate one another, how can we envy or discriminate?. We may look different, but we are the same. When you look at someone you are looking at your mirror image. This truth should stop hatred toward one another. This truth would stop wars and create a more loving and peaceful world.

Throughout both the Old Testament and the New Testement are passages that demean women and degrade their worth. The Bible equates a woman to cattle and other property man may own. Women are "taken" into marriage, regardless if they want to be married or not, and are often bartered for or sold outright. 1 Samuel 18:27 shows David buying a bride for 200 foreskins. 1 Timothy 2:11-15 says women may not usurp man and that they may be saved through child bearing. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 forbids women to speak in church. They are to ask questions of their husbands at home if they don't understand something. Romans 1:27 talks about homosexuality as men "leaving the natural use of a woman." So basically, the Bible says women are only good for pleasuring their husbands, having children, and indentured servitude. In fact, there are practically no mention of female births into families at all after Genesis, only male births. So why would you be a part of a religion that does not value you?

I notice that most Islamic teachings were not new. They are mainly taken from Jaudism and Paganism. Some examples are:
1- Monotheism (worshipping only one god), which is the basic idea of Islam, is taken from Jaudism.
2- Zakat (charity money or tax) is also taken from Jaudism.
3- Praying for god (Salat) is also taken from Jaudism and Paganism (Muslim prayers is very similar to ancient Pagan's prayer).
4- Pilgrimage (Hajj & Omra) are taken from Paganism.
5- Most Islamic teachings to encourage people to do good deeds and prohibt them from doing bad deeds are also taken from Jaudism and Christianity.
6- Most Islamic punishments (Sharia Hodoud) are taken from Paganism (such as cutting the hands of thieves) and old Jaudism (such as stoning adulters to death).

Can anyone tell me what exactly was the new thing that Islam brought?

I have heard that Mormons don't tell you all of their beliefs at first, so you don't immediately dismiss their religion. I do not know whether that is true or not, but it certainly makes sense.

Note: If you are to give a Mormon belief, please back it up with a Book of Mormon or biblical source, please!

Some examples would be:
- If you die a good person, you might be able to get your own planet to rule as god of
- Jesus and Lucifer are brothers
- God has a wife

PS - I know these beliefs to be true, but I don't know where the Book of Mormon actually says this, so if you know, please help me out.

I am just interested in the beliefs of religions; this is not to be a "let's flame the Mormons" discussion.

Thank you,
Derek
