I believe in exorcism, but I think humans are flattering themselves by implying demons would want to possess a being lower than themselves.
Possesion = wistful thinking
I think when someone starts acting like they are possessed, it's just they're darker self taking over.
Exorcism works well to 'fix' such a thing, nevertheless. So in the end everyone's happy.
Exorcism = Yay!!

You watch when someone is supposedly "possessed," and it often makes a pretty strong case to believe in it. Some people will poo-poo this whole arena. Others will become more reserved and keep their opinions to themselves. Then there is humor. I wrenched my knee about four days ago and the resulting pain is relentless. I wish I had an exorcist to get that evil demon out of my knee! Just kidding. Getting serious, exactly what is going on is a mystery. But I happen to believe if someone has major issues, an exorcism is a perfect opportunity to let it go with a vengeance. All the bases are covered and you can whoop and holler all you like. I pick up on this whole subject noting people coming to the support of someone who is obviously very upset. I think the world would be a better place if we rallied around anyone who is having a rough time of it. It would be another way, hands on, to count your own blessings. God is a presence which runs through everything in life, no matter how you define God. So, it seems to me it is good to have these relatively safe havens where people can let their turmoils and crazies fly. It appears many have been profoundly helped by such ceremonies. It would be unwise to conclude anything. This seems to me to be one of those ongoing mysteries and you just keep adding to your experiences with or near them. This answer may seem shallow, but keeping an open mind is sometimes thought of as being wishy-washy. So there you have it. As you age, you see things in life that defy explanation. I believe it is okay to bring a serious frame of mind to understanding such things, and I believe exorcism is one such item. Sent with sincerity from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

take into acount of what the bible says about heaven and hell, when you look at the time jesus was on this earth , you will find that he cast out the demons from a person , not only did he cast them out , but they knew who he was, and he knew who they were. the demons even asked for jesus permission to go into a herd of pigs. .
when god gave us free will , to make desicions on everything in our life, that includes good and bad,, i do believe when you have a practice of honoring voodoo,witchcraft, then your mind is open to evil forces... therefore there is only one power that can combat evil. and that is jesus christ, but i do believe that some churches are now trying to make a big deal of this...
yes i do believe in exorcism, but not in the way it is put forth today by the catholic church.. the only way that a demon or evil spirit can be removed is by the power of jesus christ, and the person that is preforming the exorcism must be connected well with the holy spirit.. this is not something that you fool around with...

Exorcism is a creation of the Catholic Church as is the devil. The only people who get 'possessed' are those with a Catholic heritage. Many people who don't go to church or even believe in God have Catholic roots. Everyone who has ever been 'possessed' always go to the Catholics for their help...I've never seen a possession case where the people didn't have a familial connection to the C. church.
If you believe it...for you it is true...and therefore can become your reality...the mind is more powerful than we can even begin to imagine and what fear can create boggles the mind...it costs BIG MONEY to get 'exorcised' think about that!
"their services don't come cheap but they help out when they can" as the song goes.

Jesus solid out evil spirits. He gave his apostles authority to do a similar and they did on party. Joseph Smith became once taken to courtroom in ny and positioned to blame of casting out an evil spirit yet seems how there is no longer any guidelines hostile to that the choose had to allow him pass. sure we believe there are evil spirits and they are frequently solid out by 1 given authority from Christ to attain this. we do not call it "exorcism" that is a Catholic be conscious. it isn't as dramatic as video clips made on the problem. also casting out evil spirits like speaking in tongues - once you've a efficient religious journey you do not tell each individual and their dogs about it.

I believe it is true. Why woudn't be? It is mentioned in the Bible. Jesus threw away demons from people's bodies. Priests are his deputies on earth, so it is normal for them to take the demons out. As Jesus did.

i believe that the devil has tainted the minds of these poor people, and it gets sooo bad that you have to have someone closer to GOD then the average person to release the person.... i dont think they are mentally ill, or faking it.... they are seriously in need of help, and only GOD can deliever them from satan
