Christians are god fearing, devil fearing, and hell fearing(If you're not hell fearing, You wouldn't be concerned about being saved). Some even fear Atheists. Would you be afraid if your daughter married an Atheist? Some are also afraid to question their own belief

Agnostics are afraid to take either side so they sit on the fence

Us Atheists think god is bullshit and dont care if we're wrong

Study shows that fear causes hate and violence, So who are the most fearful?

Would a Jehovah's Witness trust the translation of their Bible to someone who didn't know Greek or Hebrew and only had a high school education?

This is an important question to ask a Jehovah's Witness because they do, in fact, do just that. The Watchtower Society has always resisted efforts to identify members of the translation committee for the New World Translation. There is good reason for their secrecy. The translation committee is now known to be a group of five men with no credentials that would in any way make them qualified to translate the Bible from the original texts. Four of the five men in the committee had no Hebrew or Greek training whatsoever and had only a high school education. The fifth member of the translation team claimed to know Hebrew and Greek. However, while being examined under oath in a court of law in Edinburgh Scotland, he was found to fail a simple Hebrew test. The truth is the translation of the New World Translation used by Jehovah's Witnesses was translated without any ability to read the original texts.

I remember as a kid, many years ago, lookin at the faces of people in my catholic church and they all looked like they rather be cuttin their arms off with a saw. If you are in the house of your all-loving god, shouldnt you have a huge smile on your face? It looks like 'Night of the Living Dead' I never felt so depressed in my life then when i was in church. If you feel so strong about something shouldnt you be able to show some emotion or is the brainwashing that deep?

In Gnostic tradition, Jesus neither sees his death as a tragedy, nor as a necessary act to save the world from its sins.
In Bible also we see that Jesus has the power to forgive sin (Matt.9:6) and save men (Luke 19:10) without shedding blood. Transfiguration (Matt. 17:2) also showed the power of Christ to change to spritual form and back without shedding blood. In the Lords prayer also we see that the forgiveness of sin is not linked with the shedding of blood.
As Christ and Father are one (John.10:30), is it not correct for all Christians who accept that salvation is through Christonly, to also accpt that salvation is not linked with shedding of blood in any way?

I believe that organized religions are the main and most powerful obstacle to world peace. The danger arises when people of one religion say they are better and will go to heaven and others who don't follow the same religion will go to hell. God doesnot have a religion. God is inside of me and you and in everything and everywhere. Your religion is a result of what your parents believed. We need to believe in the ultimate source or God and get rid of religions

I am currently enjoying an extended visit in a country where the population is primarily of the Islamic faith. I enjoy hearing the call to prayer early every morning, and I have noticed that I do not hear it on Sunday. I also notice that the farmers do not work in their gardens on Sunday. I am interested in the reason. Thank you.

Despite what I've been told, I think I may have been born this way. But I've heard through popular media that turning gay is a choice. How do I do this? (I'd really like to turn bisexual and double my target market) I just can't seem to find other men attractive. Is this a mental disease? Should I pray to God?

i recently travelled to a muslim coutry on a muslim flight. when i purchased the air ticket this is what i read on a notice that came with it.
we observe strict islamic regulations on all our flights
no alcohol will be served
no pork products, and all the meals will be prepared to halal regulations
no unislamic or nude literature will be permitted in our flights

during the flight i asked a friendly air steward whether i can have a shot of whisky, and he smiled winked and took me to the rear of the air liner and gave me not only a big glass of scotch but a nice warm bacon and egg sandwich as well.
now i wonder whats all this fuss in islam when i see so many hypocrites in this religion?

Why can they not mak up their minds whether there is a god or not?

Do they even try to decide?

Or are they content to not believe either way, ever?

All that science, touching the face of God,

2006-07-02 03:19:40 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous

I am in a difficult situation right now.

Recently, I started thinking about my faith again. I was raised Catholic, but then stopped being one after I found out that Catholicism frowns on gay people, and once I found out I was gay, it would be impossible to carry on with being Catholic.

I believe in God very strongly - in fact I had a religious experience when I was younger, but I have tried to find a church I can belong to, but to no avail. It has led me to ask these questions:

- If God hates gay people, why did he create them?
- Doesn't God love everyone?
- Even though I love God, does that still mean I'm going to hell?
- Will I ever find a church that's right for me?

One more note - the bible references are confusing at best, and I personally don't believe they are the be-all and end-all of what God says, so don't just answer with a quote - add something useful to the discussion.
