OK, I admit, I cheated. I read the atheist's answers first...I guess I was the first Christian niave enough to click on this question.
Or are these really Christians trying to make atheists look bad?? It's kind of hard to tell...
Honestly, I think there are some atheists who really don't worry much about the church one way or the other. Why would they, if they are truly atheists? But I don't think they get online to tell us this.

OOPS, I guess I'm the slowest Christian to click on this question...congrats to the atheist who isn't worried about the church. LOL, I liked his analogy, comparing the church to the place that puts salt on the road. Come to think of it, isn't that sort of what the church does? Maybe that's why Jesus calls us "the salt of the earth"...we quietly melt the ice and make the way easier... Of course, weak salt that doesn't work so well, according to Him, is worthless. Great analogy, I may borrow it!!
(So, some atheists don't like Christians, big surprise. Why not just leave them alone? After all, the very WORST thing they can do is to pray for you...)

Well, I not going to read what the Atheists think first, because it may influence my answer. You ask what I think.
I feel Atheists think it just a Social Club of egotistic, brainwashed people!
BUT, I not say I right about this. Most people think differently, so, you should receive many different answers from both sides, IF, people be honest!
NOW after reading a few, including below thinking they the first Christian to answer. I will ADD I not trying to make anyone look bad, I just tell what I think, and I think at least one Atheist answered along those lines above me. Guess I should add I am a Christian and do have good/close Atheist friends, we not talk much about religion, but, we have, we just think we are good friends.

Church. Hmm. Well, I am not a self-proclaimed atheist, I am a Buddhist, but either way, I don't believe in God.

Church is people getting together in a beautiful building to reinforce their shared beliefs. Much is said that is interesting, some things are said that are incomprehensible to the uninitiated, but the music can be very good. There is a strong social component, so everybody puts on their best face and nicest conversations, then they go home, where some of them treat their pets and kids badly.

I am a Christian, my sister is an Atheist. I never actually asked her about that. (I will now) My assumption is that Atheists think that Christians are foolish for going to church every week, like it is laughable that we do that. Otherwise, I don't see why they would care what Christians do. But that's just me.

Church is great on Sunday mornings! It keeps a lot of people off the road and it's a great time for me to drive somewhere.

i view church as a cult. I went to a baptist church every sunday until i turned 11 and everything i learned up until then was very hard for me to believe. i found many things that didn't go together and i just thought it was just something to scare people into not doing certain things.

its a place where my mother drags me every easter and christmas so that i can hear the same old mass again.

i guess its like when people listen to their favorite song. they can listen to it over and over without getting bored. they feel better whenever they hear it. i think mass is kinda like that for christians.

but me, i'm bored out of my mind. and to add insult to injury, my mother makes me wear a skirt.
