Genesis 3:22-24: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad, and now in order that he may not put his hand out and actually take [fruit] also from the tree of life and eat and live to time indefinite,—”  With that God put him out of the garden of Eden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken.  And so he drove the man out and posted at the east of the garden of Eden the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning itself continually to guard the way to the tree of life."

Before Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge there was no sin. God had ask this one thing of them, not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Genesis1:8,9, Genesis2:16,17. The devil came as a serpent to Eve and tempted her to eat of this tree and she did, and she tempted Adam and he ate. Then they new the difference between good and evil. They new they had done something that GOD had ask them not to do or they would surely die. Because of this there is sin in the world and man dies. This is why they were banished from the garden of Eden.

Jehovah God firstly warned Adam and Eve that if they even touched the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, they would die.
When however they had eaten of the tree,Jehovah God in Genesis Chpter 3 tells them because they had disobeyed his command they would now age and die.In order to stop them now eating from the tree of life,he had them evicted from the garden and placed the cherubs with the revolving flaming sword at the entrance,so they could not reenter.

They did eat from the tree of knowlege or life or something like that. They were forbidden to do it, but they gave in to sin. And the Garden of Eden was supposed to be a perfect little place, but Adam and Eve contaminated it, they could never go back to being innocents, they made their choice, and so God had to let them go live their life.

oh, he kicked them out because they ate the apple from the tree of knowledge. I guess god needed his children to remain ignorant, and follow him blindly, which is the basis of religion
