i don't think Islam is an "evil religion", but some people take every religion to the extreme. In Ireland, there is fighting between the Catholics & Protestants. Now technically, these are the same religion, Christian.

Any Religion that teaches Man to Love God is not Evil. Islam does teach man to Love Allah.
Some People can take advantage of Popularity of the Religion for Fulfilling their own Personal Agenda. There should be no difficulty in understanding why some one will do that....
But that does not make a Religion Bad or Evil.
Just like Science - some say science is Evil as it developed weapons for Mass Destruction. Still Science is just a process. Its the intention of the People using Science that makes it Evil or Boon.

No Islam is not evil , its more conservative than other religions that's all . and if all u know about Islam is that it is the cousins thing than iam sorry just cant call it evil, now the image you have is all wrong because its nothing like what you read in the papers or c in the news .
its all about forgiving and peace there are exceptions but most of the Muslims are good and peaceful , normal humans that feels both love and hate , anger and happiness . look deeper into it you will find like a social guide to how to deal with everyone and everything in a fare and just manner

Nope. True, it incite's violence just like all other popular religions.

But their are alot of nice Muslims around, so clearly it's a personal thing. Violent people just use to justify their actions.

Extreme idealogy in any form has resulted in wars: Nazism, Communism, Anti-Semitic Catholicism, Radical Islam e.t.c

Define "disgusting" and "evil". These are all just words. I dunno how this relates to Islam but if it does lemme ask you this: do you eat apples for breakfast? If you don't do you call people who do disgusting and evil? "Incest" I don't fancy my own family... but i accept that their have been great peoples in the past who have sanctioned ideas which today we call incest. Like the Egyptians and Incas. "Incest" is a just a word.

Many cousins have fallen in love and had good marraiges. medically there's nothing wrong with it. Their children are normal.

On the other hand alot of people with no blood relation at all have married and had abusive unhappy marraiges which have led to divorce. Many couples with no blood relation had deformed children.

I dunno what's your purpose of posting this question. Are you looking to justify the beliefs that you already have about Islam? Or are you actually seeking to challenge your own beliefs?

If you just looking to back up your beliefs/definitions, don't bother asking qns. Just believe what you want, and be happy about it.

But be warned: if you piss off the wrong people, they will knock your head off.

No religion is evil by itself. Some of the prescriptions, interpretations, which could have been relevant during a certain period, due to the prevalent situations then, for survival reasons, may need review now, and from time to time. But the basic principles remain same.
The same is the case with enactments. The preamble gives the purpose of legislation. To achieve the purpose, rules are framed if necessary. These rules could undergo drastic changes over a period of time even to merely fulfil the purpose of the enactment ! Unfortunately, a blind belief in religions does not allow people to have such review to the applicability of prescriptions with respect to religious 'dictates' and hence the confusion. Another classic example could be, the army of a certain country trains one group of soldiers to survive by eating raw snakes, since the terrain of their operation is in-hospitable, and demands on survival are severe. Now this training is not relevant for most of the armies in the world !

No. No religion is evil. The problem is the world is not still free from imperialism and colonialism.
Democracy is the answer Democacy everywhere, including the UN... No veto power to any country. That should be the starting point. Then no religion will appear evil.

No Islam is evil. Our ideas of what is right and wrong come from the society we are raised in. It pretends to be reality but it is little more than the prevailing opinion held by those around us. The term for it is called consensus reality. That is our reality is created by the general consensus of those we agree with.

Actually your question as stated can’t really be answered because any idea of evil is also a product of consensus reality. That is it varies from place to place. What you may call evil can be accepted as being the correct thing to do in some other culture. What seems to make perfect sense to us may be seen as evil when viewed from the perspective of some other culture.

The Europeans were proud Catholics and Protestants i.e. Christians but that never stopped their kings and queens from screwing their cousins centuries ago. Islam is no more evil than Christianity.
