Religion has never been the cause of any conflict or wars in the history of mankind. It has always been the diseased hearts of mankind using religion as an excuse to dominate others and using religion as a 'feeling good factor' by believing that God is on their side. Crusaders used Christianity to massacre innocent people throughout the world, IRA uses Catholicism to carry out their bombing campaigns in the UK, World war 1 and 2 weren't the cause of religion in fact it was the same old diseased hearts in power politics hungry for more power to dominate and terrorise innocent people killing millions of people in the end. At present Islam is presented as a boogie man after Communism and is being linked to the conflicts all over the world. In fact there are people killing in the name of Islam while the religion of Islam is a religion of peace. Religion has always been the easy targets and will remain an easy targets unless people stop those in power using religion and expose their real ugly agenda behind their religiously looking figures.

It's quite clear you ether "have no education in this area" or are Religious, Yes The Crusades, India / Pakistan, Northern Ireland the list is absolutely endless, Religion is the single Reason for most wars and a major issue in most others!

As can be seen by the above response Religious people will blame anything else People, money, history anything, but accept religion is at fault!

the only exception I might think of is the war between the Israelites and Amalakites in the Bible if you take that in its literal light.

but even that can be explained as revenge.

So in short no, no war in history was ever fought solely on religion greed, power and honor are always in the mix.

as for the Crusades as people said above they were a pretax to conquer the land of Israel from the Muslims so the Catholic Church would have more influence their.

When hasn't it? Because even if one makes a feeble attempt to blame atheism on one side, who is the other party responsible for war?

More atheists? No. A religious side or country.

There have been plenty of theist v. theist wars, but never an atheist v. atheist war. Think about that.

There's the Crusades. And the Hundred Years War. Plenty of info available on both. Good luck.

War is ALWAYS about money and power.
Sometimes they dress it up in other clothes, but follow the money and you'll see the true motivation.

Look at the present Iraq war - not about 9/11, not about terrorism, about oil and the money to fund war and the money to rebuild a ruined country after war.

Follow the money.

political and religious reasons to make peoples lives hell and take them away if you think of it both war and religion kill people. you have extremists that do any thing to prove there religion and political like iraq was political for weapons and oil.
