Having lost my mother , a cousin and friends over the last year, the inevitability of death has consumed my thoughts as I age into my 40's. A light turned on in my head in regards to this which brought me to the realization that "Religion" is one of the ways that we deal with death.

Fear of death is the Number One reason for the persistence of religion. Our egos make it difficult for us to accept that the world will continue without us in it, so we're more inclined to believe any loser who tells us that when we die we're not actually dead.

It's ridiculous. Death comes to all living things, no living creature is immune from any natural process, and only children are frightened of a natural process. For the rest of us, it's high time we grew up.

Jehovah God created the first human pair perfect. They were designed to live forever. He put them in a beautiful garden paradise and told them to fill the earth and subdue it.They had everything they could ever want or need. However due to Satan's deception, they disobeyed their Creator and as a result of that sin they began to age and eventually die.As offspring of Adam and Eve,we all miss the mark of perfection,we are all born into sin and death.Romans 5:12 -"Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin,and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned."
Jehovah God promises that His original purpose for man and the earth will be fulfilled.John 3:16 explains how -"God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son,in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life."
In the meantime, those who die,go back to the ground from which they came and remain in God's memory till His appointed time to resurrect both the righteous and the unrighteous.(John5:28;Gen.3:19
;Eccl.9:5;Acts24:15)
You can take heart in the knowledge that you can have the opportunity to see your dead loved ones again.
Jehovah's Witnesses would be only too happy to answer any questions you may have on death and they would even conduct a free home bible study with you, which will help you to understand what happens to our dead loved ones, where they go,what God promises for obedient mankind and much much more. The Bible is full of hope and promise for those who search for Truth
