Seriously, with all the evidence out there, the complex details of exactly how we got the way we are, how can any educated person actually not believe in evolution but insted believe that some invisable force just "made things the way they are"? if that was right why would be have diseases and birth defects?? Why would god want us to have those things? I mean all you have to do is look at fossil records or dinosaur bones!

I know he is called he in the bible but surely an omnipotent, omnipresent being who exists beyond the realm of our material world would be better described as 'It'?

No offence I was just wondering

this bible verse tells us that jesus existed even before he was born, which means he had to be god.
in the old testament we read the story of melchizadek whom i believe was the spirit of jesus. am i right?

I've seen much questions abot if there is a god. Someone said that he exist cause someone has to create us and bla bla bla cause nothing is automatic in this world. So who created God?? and who created god who created that god? Does god exist for real or it's just a human nature of creatin their own god to pray when we r not happy??

Will you please say a prayer for me today? I need a job to get into grad school and although compared to others' problems, I know this may seem trivial, but I would appreciate it so much if you would say a tiny prayer for me that God will help me to find a job so I can go to school.

OK so I always knew racism was a pile of balls, but only when I looked in the mirror did I realise just how big the pile was...

OK think racism (in laymans terms) it's whites hating blacks and asians, blacks hating whites and asians etc etc.......

But I looked at my skin (I'm a whiteboy) and WE ARE ALL BROWN! It's just 'white' people are a very light shade, and get darker in the sun.

So it isn't even as if dumbass racists are creating conflict from the colour of our skin...it's the shade, for heaven's sake!

We're alllllllll brown!

Yeah it was kind of an epiphany in the bathroom just then, got a bit carried away on here!

Comments?!:)

Somebody asked if the Bible mentioned dinosaurs. I really like the question and some of the answers. My question is: if man and dinosaur existed together, how do you explain the extinction of the dinosaurs? The Bible makes no reference to the metor. Serious answers only, others will be reported.

In my studies I have encountered several arguements against the Mormon church which are just awful, and likely to embarass the accuser if he is caught at it. One example is the following...
There is an arguement that the concept of God in the Book of Mormon and in the Doctrine and Covenants is different. The Book of Mormon says God is a spirit and the doctrine and covenants says he has a body.
Alma 18:26-28 And then Ammon said: Believest thou that there is a Great Spirit? And he said, Yea. And Ammon said, This is God.
Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of spirit...
At first glance it appears to be a contradiction, but it isn't because the scripture in Alma was believed to have happened about 90 years before Christ took upon himself flesh and came to earth, thus he should have been a spirit.

I know this muslim sheela in dubai who has a pet cat. oneday her hubby went off to singapore on a business trip and the cat developed a nasty rash all over its body. so when she asked me for advice i told her to go to go to the chemist and buy a surgical razor and shave off his fur.
so she had gone to a chemist shop and asked for a razor , and told the chemist that it is to shave her pussycat due to a nasty rash.
the chemist replied 'madam since you have developed a rash on your pussycat better not shave for some time ok. i suggest you first wash your panties with antiseptic and then shave.

and this is true. it happened for real.

There are so many bullies in the Religious and Spirituality section. What is their need to trash other people's beliefs? Does it make them feel better about themselves or are they just very angry?

In the documentary "Touching the Void", an atheist mountain climber with a broken leg is dropped 50 feet into a chasm during a blinding snowstorm on a remote peak. Smug Christians always say that atheists immediately turn to God at the first sign of adversity, but this climber found his atheist beliefs were stronger than ever. In fact, he argues that had he been a believer, he would have accepted events as "God's will", and just made his peace and waited either for a miracle rescue, or to die and join God in heaven. Instead, BECAUSE he was an atheist, he lowered himself further into the pitch black crevice. He dragged his broken leg behind him for days, without water, climbing over boulders, etc., and finally made it back to camp. Ironically, the non-atheist at the camp heard him crying for help, thought he was a ghost, and refused to leave the tent to help. So, my question is, wouldn't a Christian just accepted events, stayed put, prayed and died?

i believe in reincarnation. i believe that earth is hell. i believe that the Bible's hell could not be more painful (so, um... mr.devil, is it going to be a little hotter than yesterday or about the same) than the tortures we are faced with here. i feel the only way to get out of hell is to learn the lessons that PUT US HERE and make right all of the things we did wrong last time... and then ONE DAY we will get to rest, in heaven. and i believe heaven is something different to each of us as we all have different ideas of what a perfect paradise would be. some believe in golden streets but that wouldn't impress me... DOES ANYONE else believe something similar? please share.
