Not necessarily.

I am not a big confronter, but I have boundaries and when crossed I let others know they have crossed them. It has been my experience (In a 20+ yr. Christian walk) that example is the offense. People know. Thye can choose to ignore, but not confronting them does not make me a coward.

I think you should always stand up for your beliefs. I don't know if you are a coward if you don't, though. I think you are more of a coward if you try to push those beliefs on someone who doesn't share them with you. It makes it seem like you are threatened by them and you are trying to "switch them to your side."

In a way they are. However, until you are knowledgeable enough and experienced enough in the subject you are to stand up for you may not be a coward as in 'coward'. There has to be the eagerness to know and you must pray for the spirit of boldness if what you believe is divine.

No they are no coward, they just are not as animate about expressing themselves about what the believe, or don't want to be miss-quoted on what the say. Most of the time when you try to express yourself with your belief it turns into a disagreement anyway.

Most definitely, if you can't stand up for your beliefs....do you really believe them ? There's an old quote, can't remember where it's from " A brave soul dies but once while a coward dies a thousand deaths.

Finding a good set of core beliefs for life takes time. After you've seen enough of life to form firm opinions, you will learn to stand your ground or you'll get run over time and time again until you do.

I like this question....

I think that when you say "stand up for" something, if you mean willing to get into a fight for something you feel strongly about, it is a bit unfair. If someone feels strongly about something, and isn't willing to argue much with anyone about it, is just fine. They realize that arguing is worthless. Why do we as people feel the need to categorize people? I mean, you asked if someone does this, than are they.... What is so important about classifying everyone into like groups? I say, don't worry about what someone believes, especially if you are going to judge them for it. Remember, it is OK to judge people, just keep the verdict to yourself. Because, when it really comes down to it, what does it matter what you think about me? Who does it affect more? You or me? If You think I am a coward, and I don't think I am. Who does it bother? I think it is safe to say you would be bothered more by it than me.
Oh well, just one man's opinion................

Sometimes they just want to live another day. I shudder to think if I would fail under the threat of death. My prayer is that God will not test me. It is easy to stand up in the USA, but not in a Muslim country. Hundreds of people die every day on this earth because they do not believe in Allah. Just Check the news. It is so common that most people miss it.

I would most definitely have to say absolutely. If you hold them as your personal beliefs and someone calls that into question or makes fun of it, then you most definitely need to stand up not only for yourself, but for your beliefs. Never be ashamed of who you are.

No because depending on which belief it is, there are people in the world who would kill someone over their beliefs. I wouldn't voice my opinion if I thought someone else was opposed to that degree
