I recently saw a question on Answers that I found insulting to my religion, so I said some nasty things about the religions of other people who had posted those comments.

Is it Okay to do that?

Does anger give me the license to cast aspersion on other religions' prophets?

And, as long as I am not burning images or passing death warrants or doing any thing destructive, how justified is my anger?
Like God doesn't carewhat is said about him/ her. Why should I fight for him/her/it? Certainly, I am no prophet or angel. And God doesn't need to be protected either.

Help us nontheists understand. Is there something that you prayed for that happened that can not be explained and could only have been God?

Something in your own life?

Please I beg you, what example is there that you have, help us understand we are so desperate to have a personal relationship with God and many of us have prayed but most of what has happened we see causes for that can be explained that were not God or angels.

Please please, I really want to know God. Please help me I so want to know which prayers were answered that could only be God that could have no other non-God explanation.

Please give us hope that we might truely know!

If beleiving in him is so important, why doesn't he have a better way to get his word out? The bible is a book. It's written word. It can be translated any way by anyone to fit their interests. Why doesn't he guide us by different means? What about illiterate people? What did they do? There were tons of people who couldn't read in the past centuries.

My mother and I converted to Judaism when I was 8. Apparently she found out that my great-grandfather on her side of the family was jewish, so she wanted to "get back to her roots." I really don't have a problem with that. Hannukkah kicks a$$, I love latkes, and Yiddish has lots of neat words like "chutzpah" and "schlep". ^_^ (side note: I consider myself agnostic as of right now)
Whenever a white Jewish person asks me what my religion is(I go to a Jewish college), I never get any negative responses. It's always, "Oh, cool!..."and so it becomes a great conversation starter. On the other hand, when a black person asks me, I get a confused, then angry look from them, and they inform me, "You can't be Jewish! Jews are white!" I usually let it roll off my back, but I am tempted to drag them to the nearest computer and pull up the wiki article on famous black Jews. So, my question is: What's the deal? (seinfeld voice off)

Why do Muslims never source any of their "claims"? Ever notice that, for example, a Muslim below named "YahooRFacist" claims Hitler was a Christian, and never sources his claim. His proof, that Hitler was a Christian, is the assertion that baby Hitler was bapatised Catholic...and as we all know, if someone is born Catholic, well, they are sure to stay Catholic forever and ever because we all keep the religion our parents gave us...right!!

I was laying in my bed and totally devastated. I was trying my best to resist my bfs advances and my temptations about sleeping with him but I had given in again. Guilt plagued me and I felt like I had been run over by a truck. This had happened a few times be4 and i always swore I wouldnt do it again. I was so weak from grief I couldnt get out of bed. Then I felt the clearest voice speaking a scripture to me over and over again. " You sinned because you sought not the Lord ".This was a mystery to me since i prayed constantly to be safe from this sin. Finally, He got it thru to me that He meant to spend mountainous times in the study of the Word along with prayer. I did and I seemed to mature right out of that place of temptation and was totally set free. Thanks be to God and Jesus..and ty Lord for forgiving me again...

I've been reading here on yahoo answers about people who have a personal relationship with God and I am very jealous. I want one also. I have asked to have God in my life and in my heart. At this time there has been no difference in my life. But I am very jealous.

If Jesus is G-- or of G--, does it change your Faith in Jesus? If the Holy Spirit is G-- or of G-- does it change your Faith in the Holy Spirit?

I would like to share my story with any Christian or non-Christian who is still struggling and faith is not all together there.

I hold G-- to the highest, and to lie would be not only against what I believe, but against G--'s laws. Nothing here is a lie, although it might seem like it. This is the reason I type this. G-- bless you all.

I am 30 years old. I am a mathematics teacher. Since the day I was born I was Catholic. I never practiced it, and Catholic was simply a family label. I considered myself Atheist for 30 years until that day in March, I believe. I was painting my Mom's house. The face of Jesus appeared before my Mom and I. She asked me, "what does this look like to you?" But, before she finished the question I KNEW IT WAS HIM. The long hair, the beard, mustash, garments. Similar to the "Jesus" from "passion of the christ," except the eyes. Those eyes cannot be described. They translated into love, love, and love. If I had to describe them, I would say that the closest to that has been Mother Teresa's eyes. Not to take anything from her, but still, only close.
I thought that had changed me, but it didn't. It did start me off though. But, now as I researched and spent countless hours learning more about him, I started hating Jews and easily angered at anyone who spoke against Jesus. It had actually made me a worse person.
As I stuggled one morning with Currency Trading, he appeared again on the cabinet drawers of my room. He faded and came back over and over until He appeared very clear and said to me: WHY DO YOU WORRY ABOUT THINGS FROM THIS WORLD?" I think he said it two or three times. I started crying, as am right now. This was the first time that Faith came into my heart.
My life started changing, slowly. Same struggles, but different attitude and determination. I prayed day and night and went to Church. But, the real test, is the acts. "YOU WILL BE JUDGED ACCORDING TO YOUR WORKS" is one of my favorites.
In one of the Churches he said to me: "YOU ARE MARKED WITH MY BLOOD." I told my Mom and tried to make sense of it.
The last thing that he told me was: "I AM NOT YOUR FATHER. I AM YOUR BROTHER. THE SON DOES NOT EXIST WITHOUT THE FATHER, BUT WITHOUT THE SON THE FATHER IS ALWAYS."
At moments I wonder if it was all just in my imagination. This is the mistake that I keep making for this is where my Faith is tested.
No matter what, I am a better person for it. I love G-- with all my heart now, and I could never go back. Nothing in this world could ever shake or disturb my Faith. Finding G-- will always be a win-win situation. Now, I live everyday to make G-- proud of me and in the process I fulfill my obligations as human and husband.
I know that I should be doing more for G--'s glory. I am shy, but will soon find the strength and power to glorify him more and more. I am still in my learning stages, but live everyday to follow Jesus Christ's footsteps.
"pourdawg" could not be altogether wrong. But, what I know for certain is that if we are all lost souls, then we need to find G-- so that we can find ourselves in H--
"marty" tells you not to rely on feelings for that is wrong. I say to you, the problem I always made was that I thought too much and searched for contradictions here and there so that I could justify myself. But, if you think with your heart the truth will always ccome to you.

I am not here to tell you to quit your religion for they all share the great love that Jesus proclaimed. Be just, compassionate, humble and love G-- with all your heart. Share his glory by doing and not saying. ~ADIOS~

My goal now is simply to share this over and over again. I know G-- will guide me to my next step. I will keep anyone who want posted. I feel so Alive!!! Yes, even in the worst of times.

After all, there is no proof, only faith. If faith is your answer, please move on. God didn't write the bible, man did, so this is not a viable answer either, as other books have been writen. What makes you have faith, to believe in something so obscure, over all the other tales and options out there, not to mention hard scientific fact? Why are the good things that happen by God, and the bad things by the devil? And why is it OK to pass responsibility for your actions onto an invisible entity. And finaly, how do you support a religion or group that is responsible for so much death, torture, control, burnings, destruction and misery "in the name of the lord".

Love learned trillions of years ago to take on a life itself perhaps humanity sparked the evolution of positive energy. It is aware of itself? Can it think? I like to think so.

Now, we know that God the Father was there, and you believed that. But in Genesis 1:2, the Holy Spirit moved upon the face of the waters. Then in Proverbs 30:4, it says, who hath created all the ends of the earth? Who hath created the world? What is God's name and what is His Son's name? That’s not the New Testament, that’s the Hebrew Scriptures. In Isaiah 9:6-7, it says, Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And what is the name of this son? The Mighty God in the next verse.

Every time I have gone for any help in counseling something has gone wrong. I called the rape crisis hotline yesterday and they said I would have to wait until next week until their specialist got back from vacation. Before that I went to a " mental health clinic " in our town and noone was there, the door was locked. The earlist appt I have been able to get is in August and this clinic says they Psych doesnt take " walk ins ". Maybe all this is because I live in a tiny town..I dont know. Is God trying to tell me something here ? Like maybe i should just forget looking for any help and just live with it ? I THINK I should seek help because I feel like an alien stuck in my body and like Im fragmented and I struggle with thoughts of killing myself.....but if Im supposed to go for help....why so many roadblocks ? Plz pray for me if u can...
