Seriously, with all the evidence out there, the complex details of exactly how we got the way we are, how can any educated person actually not believe in evolution but insted believe that some invisable force just "made things the way they are"? if that was right why would be have diseases and birth defects?? Why would god want us to have those things? I mean all you have to do is look at fossil records or dinosaur bones!

I don't believe in evolution because it does not make sense that we "just happened". Some organism just happened to evolve ever so slowly into the human race we have now. The chances of that are like the chances of taking millions of letter, throwing them up in the air, and them making a dictionary that made perfect sense. Why disease and birth defects? Sin! God doesn't want those things but because humans choose to sin, sin has cause consequences. There is lots of evidence of God. Have you ever read the Bible? They are still trying to prove it wrong. And about the dinosaur bones...yes they lived on Earth but not millions of years ago..the Earth isn't even that old! Sure there is "mirco-evolution"; We can adapt to different areas and situation. Animals can gain or lose something then need to survive. But it's not like one day its a lizard then *BAM* the next day it starts sprouting feathers.

P.S. Where did the one celled organism come from? And how can an educated person believe that a "Big Bang" just happened and eventually formed the complex and intricate life system on Earth?

There are still many problems with the theory of evolution. Yes, there are many compelling arguments that point towards evolution, but if you look carefully there are as many arguments that point against it. For instance, with respect to the complexity, a complex argument is not necessarily true. Just because it's detailed, doesn't change the fact that it is a theory. Complexity is also the argument used by creationists to point towards an intelligent designer. Their argument is that with humans and other things in nature so incredibly complex, how can random mutations have created these things. In addition, we have yet to have discovered a long term trend in beneficial mutations that lead to aggregate change in an organism. There are adaptations that seem to point towards beneficial mutation, but every change in the actual DNA of an organism that we have observed results in an unchanged, or worse off or dead organism. Many times it is the vehicle of evolution: mutations, that causes diseases and birth defects. You ask a very good question, as to why God would ever want us to experience pain and disease, but that is a much longer answer than I can give here. With the fossil records, well we lack sufficient evidence from that of intermediate organisms or "missing links" to even suggest merely based on the fossil record that evolution is true. Remember there's evidence and compelling arguments for both sides of the debate, that's why there's still a debate. It's good to see that you're asking questions.

What evidence would that be then, you don't show where you found evidence for your statements and I mean fossils and dinasosaur bones don't say they evolved, but ok I'll tell you why I believe in God and not evolution, I used to work at an electronics manufacturers. I had a week's training in puting the components together for a simple flashing strobe light to make it workI only did one operation of puting the inside of the light together before the rest of the parts were put over the inside to complete the lamp but I had had a part in making many of those lamps and once you learn how it is done it is quite simple to put them together to end up with the finished product.Yet the lamps I had a part in making, were only very simple creations, but they take a mind to work out how to construct them, though I know this if I take all the 20 or so parts that it takes to make one of them up and put them all in a bucket and close the lid shake it arountd for the next 45 millon years I will never have a lamp. Think about our great universe, as well as our body with its wonderful construction and design. Sound reasoning should tell us that these things did not simply evolveor come by themselves.Consider other things around us. When you are in your house, ask yourself :Did my desk lamp, bed, chair, table, walls, or even the house itself evolve? Or did they need a maker? Of course intelligent persons had to make them!In what way, then, can it be claimed that our much more complex universe and we ourselves did not require a maker? And if God put us here, he surely had a reason for doing so.

Because they have learned all they know from liars. There is simply no polite way to put it. These creationist sites simply lie, and these fundies are not educated enough to realize it. Because they have learned what they know from these sites they simply have a straw-man version of evolution. They do not know what evolution says. They only know the version that creationists would like people to believe. It is really really sad how poorly some people are educated about science.

You can see their ignorance with every post. Some state Evolution is just a theory. The thing is they haven't even bothered to look up what the scientific definition of theory is. If the did they would see:

Theory: A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.

Other theories include the "Theory of Human Sexual Reproduction". This is the Theory that Babies result from sex. I guess next the fundies will argue that babies are brought by Storks. After all "Human Sexual Reproduction" is ONLY A THEORY!!.

i'm a proponent of evolution, but remember, it's just a THEORY. there is no ROCK-SOLID proof. and what in the hell do dinosaur bones have to do with the theory of evolution? humans and dinosaurs all had the same primotial ancestors, but we split around the time the dimetridon, and brancing off into 4 main kingdoms at the time. us, as well as the dimetridon (often confused for a dinosaur, which it wasn't, even though reptilian) were/are of the sanapsid line.

well, that was a tangent. but still, evolution is just a theory. there are somethings evolution can't even come close to explaining. in time, yes, they will be explained, but just because evolution does take place, that doesn't mean there isn't a god. the bible is just a book of stories for us to use to be good people. there could still be a god or some outside souce for the universe.

Ok...can you prove it? Nope! correct me if I am wrong, but do you know somone who was living billions of years today that is still living today and can tell us how they were created...? And its not just some invisible force! And what about the records? What do they prove? That carbon dating has faults? What evidence? People always say prove your theory, we have so much evidence...but never list the evidence and you never prove your theory. And when God originally created Earth, there were not diseases and birth defects. It is by our OWN fault that we have them! Because we sinned the Earth was no longer perfect. And is it really that much more educated to believe that a big bang just happened? Like thats not an even bigger leap! And oh yes, cant forget that we just came from bacterial mixture of crap!

evolution is NOT a theory. it happens every day and you can prove it through looking at diseases. if things did not evolve then there would be no such thing as resistant strains of bacteria or viruses that mutated. also there is proof of said theory by studying the different changes in certain species who adapt to certain conditions in human terms skin pigmentation is the most commonly known differentiating trait. people who lived for many years in a climate that exposed them to harsh sunny temperatures developed more melanin in their skin to protect from sun exposure while those people who live closer to the north poles lost skin pigmentation. as far as the reason why apes have not evolved as a species and the reason why there is no missing link is simple...first answer apes have not evolved because they have not needed to evolve. there has been no major climate change and no major change to their environment, however if you look at animals like the seagull, it can now be found inland and some groups of seagulls have become so dependent on human food waste as a source of nourishment that they have forgotten how to get fish from the ocean. the reason that we have not found a missing link is that we don't really know where to look for one nor would be be able to jump up and go there it is as it takes many years to evolve. evolution takes place on a geologic not human scale.
as to why some christians refuse to believe in an irrefutable fact, they are not secure enough in their belief in god to believe that the humans who wrote the bible might have gotten it wrong. lets not forget that the original ten commandments are NOT the ones we believe they are. Also why would a god who gave us free will send us to the most horrible place imaginable for using it? wouldn't that be his fault for giving us free will? free will is not free if you are punished for exercising it. jesus would be abhorred by the joke that the church has become. if god is love then why would the most perfect being imaginable have emotions such as rage, jealousy and greed ? would a paren abandon it's child if they were seperated and reuinted later in life? no a good parent would love that child no matter what. if we are god's children god would never abandon us to hell no matter our sins because he created the flaws in us. it is GOD'S fault for creating imperfect beings. also just becuase you don't understand the mathmatics behind life don't assume it's magic. if god created everything then god created the system of mathmatics by which all things must exist. our universe exists within a very specifis set of parameters and if you did any research and soul searching you would find that a single god and big bang can go together quite nicely. if god is in everything then it would fit rather nicely that god could be a single point of eveything wouldn't it?

all that being said my orignal point stands. evolution is not a theory. it happens every day.

First and foremost you need to do some more research on the evidence for evolution. And just to let you know, Darwin before his death recanted his theory of evolution and became a Christian. But just for argument sake, lets say that evolution happened, who do you think caused all to happen. There is a series of books called the Case for Creation, Case for the Savior, so forth and so on, by Lee Strobel. There are many educated persons with alot of evidence that disproving evolution.

Check it out, and God Bless you

I thinnk you want a perfect world... Yes God wanted that too, but men sin, that is why you see all those diseases and problems.

the fossil records don't mean a thing, it only means it is part of God's creation. If you believe in evolution, you are still a Monkey.

Tell me why now monkeys dont change to be humans?
