Prayer to me is like talking to a friend about issues that you can't figure out on your own. I consider God to be my best friend and He listens to me, the funny thing is that He already knows what I am going to say before I say it. As far as answered prayers, just because you don't get what you want or asked for, doesn't mean that your prayers are not answered. See we don't always know what is best for us so even though it seems like He did not answer you, someday or sometime you will say wow He did answer, just not the way I thought He would.

Keep talking to Him and praise Him for everything you have or happens to you good or bad. He loves you and knew you before you were here.

Well, people around me can swear God hears my prayers, even over superficial things. I prayed in front of people for a fight between my husband and I to end, and I even gave it a time limit. He had stormed off and I didn't know where in the city he was. 5 minutes before that time, he showed up asking if I had called him on his cell. I hadn't, which is the truth, and he said that's why he came home, because he thought I had called him. I have also expressed desire in many other things as well, including a china cabinet and set that we could not afford at the time. Here comes my mother, with an antique and very beautiful china cabinet and a huge Wyndham china dinner and tea set. She says to me "I was given this. Do you want it?" I know God hears me, and I worship God alone. Allaho Akbar.

I believe prayer is a way to express your concerns and woes in a private way. God already knows what you want and need- Don't wait for your prayers to be answered or expect them to be. Be humble and grateful for what you have in life. God is so much greater that us, I don't believe we can fathom his ways. Maybe think of it as a child voicing an opinion to his parent. chances are, his parents already knew what was going on, but understand it is a learning experience for the child, so they let him speak.

You never know if your prayers are answered. If a Christian prays 100 times and he gets results once, he will cite that as evidence that prayers get answered. More likely it is coincidence, realizing that you rarely get what you ask for, unless you take steps yourself to get it.

I agree that prayer is talking to God but he does not ALWAYS talk back to you or talk back to you right away. It take faith to believe your prayers are answered. God will not always answer your prayers right away but He will answer them.
