i rent an apt and there are only two floors. i am on the bottom. something said to go thru the front of the building. so i did and when i enterd my place there was a guy looking thru my sliding class door and look like he was trying to get in. he saw me and ran off. I called 911. the cops came and i came to my moms house. I can not even begin to tell you how unsafe this place seems now. I wish i had moved to a place with a front door that has to have a key to open. My question is, do i have a good enough reason to break my lease of i do not feel safe here.?

A very good friend of mine has just been "ripped" off by a "best friend" in a business transaction .... luckily, my friend's family was his best source of value of trust and communication - but, to cut a long story short, my friend was "conned" of a lot of money, which only he now admits to and is having a hard time in accepting this fact. My friend is a hard working person, truthful, honest almost to a fault, and loving. I have had the hardest time tonight in saying "bye" to this friend in his journey in life moving forward towards another province seeking his solitude and mental stability.
I love this friend so much, my heart aches to see him go, but I respect his moving forward in life...
How can I be a friend in saying "bye", without breaking down in front of them?

school project, people.. it's about cultural differences and how people in different background culture interacts.
i'm taking myself for an example.

I have a friend (the intellectual integrity of whom I sometimes question) who's a little nervous about some pole shift/axial shift that she thinks is going to occur sometime in the near future (2012 is her current favorite candidate year, on account of the Mayan calendar and all). Apparently we earthlings have been very bad and Mother Nature, or Gaia, or whatever, needs to get rid of a few of us to "heal herself" and a pole shift is just the way to go. So the earth is supposed to stop rotating and flip over on its side, and then start back up again...leaving a few enlightened earthlings behind, I guess...

Besides that, she says, Sylvia Browne and Ruth Montgomery say so. Now, without revealing my feelings about the subject (if, hehe, I haven't already), I'm just curious about how many people out there have heard of this, believe in it, think it's nuts, have reasons either way, whatever. Chime in whether you know anything or not, and let me know what you think!

i' ve got the authority through our steering committee to try to get AA up to the county jail...i've met with the jail administrator and he has agreed, but no big books allowed, nor brochures with staples...i looked on the world service site and didn't really see anything...any ideas on literature i can get designed for prisoners?

California is home to many different gangs. Certain clothes can be mistaken for whether or not a person is in a certain gang. I'd like to know which type and color of clothes to avoid wearing. Suggestions of neutral gang affiliated clothes would be appreciated.

It only hopes for a little while, then it dies or becomes a liar and then dies. No need to hope anymore. It lives, then it turns to dust. Therefore, it is equal to dust. It's like it was a celebration for dust.

I'm about to be fired from my first job.
I never thought this would happen.

I'm a cashier. I've been short a few times, & they say that the next one is automatic termination. My last one was high, and no, I didn't steal it. They watched the me on camera, & saw me give 3 people too much change.

I'm not a stupid person, or at least I didn't think I was. I graduated early (with a 4.0) & I've always done well, at things I've attempted. I thought I was smart! Why can't I do this job correctly? It isn't difficult, ANYONE can freakin' count back money!!!

I feel like a loser. It's not just this, though. I feel like I can't do anything right, in life. I don't have any friends at this job, with the exception of some older people, & I know I'll be even more misreble at another place.

I really needed this job, because there are hardly any places that pay like this, & hire people my age. I don't want to flip burgers for a living!!

What do I do? Why can't I do this job properly?
