The coils are all made in the United States by a company called Legett and Platt (they control 90 percent of the US market) the foam, cloth, etc all work the same way. The components are assembled by the manufacture. Serta is an example. To buy a good mattress compare flip or no flip. A no flip mattress will last longer because the coils will not compress into the foam. In the coils compare the gauge of the wire with the number of coils in the mattress. All matress companies own there names. That way the customer can not price compare. For example Serta will make the same mattress as an off brand retailer. Serta will name the mattress the Williams the off brand will be named the Smith. Both mattresses will have the same coils, same foam, and different fabrics. The fabric will make you believe you are getting a different mattress. Also, the thicker the mattress the better the quality and durability. Buy a mattress for a queen or king between 500-1000 dollars atleast 15 inches thick, and no flip. Do not worry about who manufacture's it. They are all made of the same parts. Look for mattresses with the same number of coils and same thickness to price compare. Also pillowtops are purely decoration. They serve no purpose.

There is a huge mark-up on mattresses. A friend of a friend was a factory Rep for Spring Air. The California King top of the line double pillow top was selling at the store for $1,599.00. Let's just round that off to $1,600.00

My friend got that same mattress from the Rep for $500.00. That included tha mattress, box spring, and frame.

I spent 1700 for my king mattress...honestly everyone tells me its too lots yet a twelve months later as quickly as I hit that mattress i'm out, I had back issues and hip issues (even although i'm youthful, from having my young infants) i've got under no circumstances had a issue. I awaken with my young infants all squeezed in between me and my husband the place they sneak in bcuz its so comfortable. perfect funds I ever spent...you employ it 8+ hours a night, while your ill, to examine or learn. So well worth it. and that they threw in a mattress physique, boxspring mattress protector, and 2 excellent of the line pillows that under no circumstances pass flat they reflate someway and sense like your snoozing on a cloud. decide for it..you will not be apologetic approximately spending the money. yet keep in mind all those fees are negotiable so do not take the cost ticket cost, the cost ticket cost on ours replaced into 2500. We walked out with 1700 and extras.

It all depends on whether it fits your body type or not. I have an expensive memory foam mattress that I can NOT sleep on at all, I wake up in pain. Then there is the old beater that I love, it was cheap.

YES - if you can afford an expensive one buy it - you spend 8 hours of your day laying on it and it effects the rest of your day if you were uncomfortable. Cheap matresses are ok at first, but they wear out quickly, meaning you will probably start feeling springs poking up in about a year - after that you'll need to purchase those eggshell things to lie on your bed comfortably.

not at first, but cheap mattresses do not age well at all..become saggy, lumpy, lousy in a short time. good mattresses hold up well and are worth the money..just make sure you get someone who knows how to fit you for a mattress....do not assume you want a "hard" mattress, it may be very wrong for your body.
