Pardon the spelling. My partner works for the German National Bank in Austria and is spiritually troubled about the activities within it. Share prices depending on death in the streets etc.

Dick Cheney visited Australia this week. People were angry because half the city's roads were closed to expedite his short journey across town. Why do we revere these people so much? Are they really worthy of being treated like gods or kings, let's face it, history usually shows these so called wonder men to be fallible in one way or another....

When will they stand against the violent crime
in their communities and become pro-active
against crime, and not enablers?

When will they become enraged with
the bloody crime?

It is mostly African-Americans killing
African-Americans. And mostly
gang related.

Can there be any resolution and peace?

Most members of the community live in fear
of these criminals. They must come forward
and address the problem. They must be
committed to sweep them out of their neighborhood.

Seems like every single person in town goes to "the mall" every weekend. I realize "the mall" is a comprehensive shopping experience, but I've come to the conclusion that I'm either more broke than everyone else, hate shopping more than most people, or I just don't need as much "stuff" as everyone else. What is everyone buying? The mall is starting to look like the Christmas rush/season every single weekend of the year.

It just amazes me that so many people need to buy so much stuff every Saturday and Sunday. I only brave the mall crowds (the mall traffic is worse) when it's a last resort or it's my only reasonable shopping decision.

I mean, really, why is there a huge department-type store dedicated solely to bed linens and bath towels?

I guess I'm just a cheap-skate grumpy shopper and I hate long lines and traffic jams even worse.

There are just so many other more exciting, better things to do on weekends besides shop.

I am from Australia. I have absolutly no problems with American people at all. I have just noticed in reading a lot of answers that many users seem to believe Americans are the only people on this site. A question asked at a decent hour here is answered with a comment of "why is this being asked at 3am". Other answers I have read make comments like "this is America after all" etc. I have seen quite a few examples of this. I guess I am just wondering if you don't realise people from other countries are asking and answering too??

The concept in society that boys should not show their emotion by bursting into tears, what ever the situation is.They should check it by any means. Do you agree with this or think that emotion comes only from heart and so it is quite natural that tear may comes to boys also.

When walking past a TV that is turned on, and even without seeing the screen side, you can always sense that it's on, despite that it may be showing a black screen and making no noise at all!
