There is no gainsaying the fact that it is only due to an exploitative system that we have a yawning gap between the rich and poor. I am one for an egalitarian system where from all according to his ability and to all according to his need is prevalent.

These days money is the power.Rich can manipulate in many ways and exploit the poor. Naturally gap between "haves" and "have nots" is increasing.
To me, only remedy lies in having ' One Earth Government ' who should be responsible to meet all needs of people on earth. Nature has provided ample of resources -a major part of which unfortunately we spend on creating conflicts and fighting for supremacy and individual interests.

Well, with G.D.P growth rates escalating the economies are growing at a faster pace esp. of developing countries like India, that means the wealth with the people in the country is increasing day-by-day.
And this wealth is going in the hands of entrepreneurs and politicians mainly, but there are ample egs. of rags becoming riches and vice-versa(V.Prasad of Matrix Adlabs, L.N.Mittal).
Coming to remedies-the people with extraordinary wealth must indulge in social activities like health, education, donating to n.g.o's etc. voluntarily or forcefully.
Heavy taxation after a limit for ex. 50 lacs can be one.
but the real solution lies in the hands of the industrialists--by partnering workers, labours employed in their factories and giving them a share of profits and companies share.
Politicians should spend the money given to them in M.P or M.L.A quota at the right places instead of misappropriating them.
On the part of the part of the government it should make sure that equal rights and opportunity exists to all its citizens.

It is almost impossible to mass wealth without deception, cheating and stealing. If you do manage to get rich honestly then arrogance, greed and pride insulate you from the world around you. I think that riches can be a trap. Nothing wrong with the money itself, it's the side effects.
Shalom.

There is no remedy. There has always been a gap. Perception may change, but the gulf is always there.
