It's not legal unless they have a warrant or ur house is a crime scene. No liability on you for your dog's action.

The officer can call animal control and have your dog taken away to be evaluated on whether or not it's vicious. You are lucky he didn't just shoot the dog, they can do that I've heard of it many times. This family was broke down on the side of the freeway and a cop stopped to help and the families dog got out of the car and the cop shot it. He got in no trouble at all, and the story got national attention. They can shoot dogs if they feel threatened. Yes, even in your home.

I can't take my Jack Russell anywhere, the little b*tch bites women in the crotch, is that legal? Oh you were asking if the cop was legal not the dog? Tee Hee!

You can let a cop in and allow them to take pics without a warrant. Bad move by the way, but any evidence they obtain without a search warrant will be thrown out of court as not admissible.

I'm guessing, since a police dog was involved, that this was a drugs raid. However, irrespective of the reason, the police may have powers under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act to obtain photographic evidence, in which case your consent would not be required, and the taking of photographs deemed lawful. However, if you have any doubts consult a solicitor.

Depends on how you conducted yourself if you give them aggro then you brought this on yourself.
And why take photos of your house unless you are not being honest here.
I was in the same situation as you and they took legal action and I had to pay the officer an amount of compensation plus court fine and legal fees.

The RSPCA came and took the dog away, still hoping I will get it back.

if they had a warrant or permission you are in deep kemshi...the other problem is almost all homeowners insurance will not cover a dog bite from the same dog twice...no matter what the circumstances...if it bites anyone, anytime, you have to get rid of it or lose coverage......it can bite a burglar raping your wife and you still must get rid of it...the big insurance companies own the world you know...
