This summer I got the word "Aequitas" tattooed down my left leg. I'd now like to complement that with Latin translations of the words above, each as an individual statement.

In Pinyin theory, the consanont "J" should represent the "dy" sound, but when I listen to CDs it sound so me like they are just pronouncing the consanant "J" as "J" as in English ("Just", "Jump" for example).

I know Mandarin speakers use Hanzi instead of characters, so I use Zhongwen Zi below as examples:

When you pronounce (就 = Jiu4) do you say the "dy" sound or the English "J" used in "Jump", "Just"

How does the pronounciation of (Ji1 = 乩) compare to (汁 = Zhi1)....Do you say the "乩" with a "dy" sound or an English "J" sound.

I think the best thing for me to do is to make a Mandarin friend, and hear him/her speak, but I have no Mandarin people in my surroundings or in my neighberhood ect. thus I ask this question on Y/A

Thank you for sharing your culture and your knowlege with me.
I appreciate your kindness.

I was in my linguistic anthropology class and we were discussing the discriptive properties of languages (english was what we had positive knowledge about and during that this question had popped up) anyway, my professer would like to know if there is any language, currently known by the way, that doesn't have prepositional phrases (I myself would primarily like to know about japanese though). Any help on the "topic" of this question (mainly about japanese, but the other question in the "details" here would also be appreciated) would be nice.

I'm learning to read and write Kanji, right now just simple words and phrases, but if I ever become more advanced I'd like to know how to read them, and I've heard that Kanji is read right to left, instead of left to right.
Is this true, and is it for all Japanese writing or just for certain publications?

I am a fluent speaker of our dying language, West Flemish, and some consider it a dutch dialect and nothing more. I however, consider it a language and I think that there are even Celtic traces in our language, because a lot of things in our language can not be explained out of dutch.

I need someone to have a look at my sentences. A teacher of ours wanted us to write a letter. He corrected the mistakes, but didn’t write down what exactly the mistake was. So we’re to check our own mistakes… but sometimes I didn’t know if I corrected them properly or wrong again.

I wrote in such a system:
“My first and wrong sentence.”
- “My second and hopefully right sentence.”

So could someone help me please?
Thanks in advance!

“Hey there”
- “Hi there”

“Did somebody tell you, that…”
- “Have someone told you, that…”

“I’m starting with my A-Levels.”
- “I’m starting my A-levels.”

“… in which I’ll be attending the A-Level courses.”
- “…in which I’ll be attending A-Level courses.”

“Right know, I’m kinda nervous”
- “Right know, I’m sort of/kind of nervous.” (which one is right/better?)

“It might turn out as advantage.”
- “It might turn out as an advantage.”

“…because there’s English Language everywhere!”
- “…because there is English everywhere!”
