I love Wales and the Welsh; and I really enjoy listening to the Welsh language being spoken. When visiting North Wales (I live in London) I have the radio or TV on all the time just to hear the lovely sounds of the Welsh language. Unfortunately I can't understand hardly a word of it! On my next trip I hope to stay in one of these hotels: "Swn-y-mor" or "Hafod-y-mor" or "Hen-Dy". What would these be in English? Thanks very much.

Hi I was born in America but I am Norwegian. I learned Norwegian from my mother and am fluent in it, but obviously, learning from her, I don't know how to cuss at anyone in Norwegian. If you know any Norwegian insults or swears can you please tell me and also give me the meaning(I know there are many words or phrases that have no American equivalents but please try)

i can speak three (English of course, Spanish and Navajo) most people around here speak at least two languages (I'm in the Southwestern USA (Arizona to be more specific) ,a good deal of people in this region speak two or more languages because of our proximity to Mexico and the indigenous people that live here as well, I'm curious about people in Europe , seems to me that there are SOOO many languages there i would assume most everyone speaks multiple languages? also how prominent is the English language in Europe, do most people speak English as well as there own language? and lastly if i were to travel in Europe is there any language that is "universal" so to say, for instance if you live in North America of course English is universal but if you go to south America even though there are many languages you can get away with speaking Spanish and do just fine almost everyone knows it, is there an equivalent to that in Europe? sorry for the over complicated question.

I have got to know a french girl who has recently started calling me "ma puce". I know it is an affectionate term but I always thought it was something that you called your boyfriend/girlfriend husband/wife etc, not a friend? My french is ok, but not native level, so if a native french speaker could tell me what this means exactly it would be great. She is good friends with my boyfriend so I cant ask him as he will get worried. I am also starting to get worried....thanks for your help.
