When I leared Italian I seemed to forget Portuguese, or maybe I just took it apart and rebuilt it as Italian, they are very similar, and it has been 9 years now since I really spoke Portuguese. My Italian is good, I speak it on an daily basis, and I'm immersing myself in Irish now, but don't want to lose my Italian.

I'm not asking how to learn a language, I taught English as a second langage for years so I'm familiar with the process, my question is about how you think languages are mapped into/onto/through each other in the brain. What happens when you learn a third or fourth language, how do they connect with your mother language or other languages you've learned when they are a. the same language family b. different language families. Thanks

How would I give my brief autobio. in French?

I get up at 4:00am. I study in the morning before work. I usually arrive at 5:00. Work starts at 8am. I don't like to sleep late, even on the weekends.

On the weekends I like to shop, go out to eat, get coffee, walk my dog and study.

I am interested in medicine. I would like to go to medical school. I am currently an emergency medical technician. I am a member of the health professions club at the University and part of MEDLIFE. Medlife is an organization that gives free medical services to impoverished families in Ecuador. We do medical missions with physicians several times a year.

In my spare time I like to cook, read and play the piano.

In the KJV of 1Co 1:18, sōzomenois is rendered "are saved," but in most modern translations it is rendered "are being saved."

Sōzomenois is a present middle/passive participle. Does this mean it can be rightly translated both in the past tense and in the active (middle tense)? If so, how does one determine what the correct translation is (past or active)?

Can you explain how present middle/passive participles are to be translated and how one determines whether the word in question is present middle or passive?

What is your opinion about the sōzomenois?
