If i felt something in the past which would i use for instance

it was special?

anybody know which to use Ser or Estar

Of course ! With "ser" it talks about yourself.
With estar, you talk about where you are. Easy

ser is a description (you job, country of orgin are some examples) or telling time/a date. (1:00, Sept 25) and estar is a location (your house, a club,etc) or a description of how you feel (happy sad angry) ..... there r more examples but this is basic

Ser is for permanent situations.

Yo soy una mujer. I am a woman.

Estar is for temporary situations.

Estoy en la _____. I am in the office.
(I forgot the Spanish word for office.)

Good question.In my Spanish grammar I have 2 full pages on it,listing all the forms.The difference my friend is for example.
I am a grandfather and I am fine-----Soy abuelo y estoy bien
__ser_ you use to describe what you are and __estar_you use to describe how you feel.

Ser is who a person IS. Such as your name, female, male, doctor, teacher, your possessions (house, car, TV), etc. (Soy John Doe). (Soy feminina). (Mi casa es blanca). (Mi libro es aburrido). (Esa es la casa de Juan). Estar pertains to geographical location and conditions, such as my house is on First Street, location. (Mi casa esta en la primera calle). Condition-how you feel, happy, sad, etc. (Estoy feliz, estoy triste).
