i was wondering if this was true because some people had told me this...

scordare comes from ex- (out of) and cor, heart.. literally to expel something from the heart
whereas dimenticare comes from demens... expel something out of the mind.

which is for these two phrases:
non dimenticherò mai il mio primo amore
non scorderò mai il mio primo amore

i'm getting "i will never forget my first true love" tattooed in italian for my fiance. & if that is true i might as well go with scordero' for its orignial meaning.

What is other 'correct word' or 'concise sentence' for those who use the unfamiliar intelectual words or bombastic vocabs to make the listeners clueless or simply to convince/impress others?

And is there any name/word for such person?

Thanks for your reply. (I hope you understand my question)

(-: Well, I have a new volunteer assignment to translate a script set in a prison. I may need some help this week, but to start with I have two terms I'd like to define.

1. 刑務官 Is this one of many "corrections officers" or is this the big boss (the warden) at the top? Is there a good word in English to use for "corrections officer"? This seems a little too stiff. I read in wiki that they are sometimes called "yard dogs" but I think this slang is too obscure.

2. あんらー別嬪さんやないの~。This is said by a male prisoner who is in jail for being a fake psychic con artist. What's up with this "anra"? Is it a variation of "ara"? Maybe Hoo-boy? Or Christ Almighty? I don't have a good sense about how strong this "anra" is. I also need to check with my translation co-ordinator about how strong the English can be.

I'm thinking of translating the rest as "Ain't you a cutie!"

I'd appreciate any thoughts on the matter. Or links to prison terminology in English. Thanks!

Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths but do you believe that something as cohesive as a single, legally recognized language become law?

All views are appreciated, please be willing to substantiate them.

What other language may eventually help me learn Romanian?
I have to take a series of required courses, but my college only offers: Greek, Italian, German, Latin, Russian, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Polish, Swahili, Ukrainian, and Yoruba.
Eventually, I would like to also learn Romanian (on my own and with the help of other native speakers) because my fiancé's family is Romanian. What language courses may help me in learning Romanian down the road?

A fellow I work with uses the adjective f***ing before most every noun when he speaks. I find it very annoying.

Any thoughts, friends?
