I saw this character in a vision today, from one of my spirit guides. I think it might be Chinese, but I'm not sure. I was wondering if anyone knew what language it was and what it meant?

I tried my best to draw it as I saw it. Forgive if it's slightly off.

Why is it people who know other language besides english speak the another language(if they know it) in america? I know that some are accustomed to their language and stuff like that. I mean to ask like why is it when I go to a veitnamese nail salon, the person speaks english to you but they speak the other language when they are doing your feet? Is it because they don't want others to know what they are saying, like bad stuff?

They are so different in spelling and grammar structure. I understand there were invasions and infusion of foreign languages, but how can a language change so dramatically? How did they become Shakespeare's and today's English? I mean, can any native English speaker decipher what this passage mean without googling?

Hwæt! wē Gār-Dena in geār-dagum, þeod-cyninga, þrym gefrunon, hu ða æþelingas ellen fremedon.

Can anyone still speak Old or Middle English today?

I have customers in Japan but I am shy about learning the language. I am not usually the person who visits but my role is expanding and I would like to learn what I can to make my customer more comfortable. How would I go about it? I also have a 6.5 year old boy who I would like to learn this language. Would teaching a father and son be different?
