Although we all speak the same language I know that there are various differences between European English and American English. What do people from Europe usually think of American English (accent, slang, speling, etc.)? Also, do you ever have any difficulty understanding us due to accent or grammar differences? Curious to hear what you say.

My family and I are going to Florida in a month or so. Are there any interesting words we should know about? Last time we went, a bloke asked me what I usually wore with jeans so that he could measure them right. I replied "trainers". He laughed his head off. Ok, so we now know about that one. But are there any other useful ones we should know about?

It's totally made up. A friend taught me how to "speak" it when I was like 10 years old.

I can't explain the rules of it but I'll write a sentence in english. Then in the "Language"

English:
what did you eat for breakfast this morning?
Language:
Whadagut didagid yudagou edageet fadagore bredagek-fadagast thidagis mordagor-nidaging?

What's this language called?

I speak French, Spanish and English. My native tongue is English, but I really want my daughter to be fluent in French. How do I integrate the language in our daily lives? She's learned many words in French, but I also want to speak English as well. Do I just pick French and English days of the week? I just don't want her to be confused.

Help please!

Just watched some sketches of João Kleber's candid camera show, and iin one sketch the host calls some female passers-by "Piranha" and then their temper flares...so I guess it may be a very offensive term....

There is a scientific term for words in English which have the same origin and sometimes similar meaning but are spelled differently, for example guarantee - warranty or guarderobe - wardrobe.

Thank you!
