It depends on the dialect. In New York the vowels are really pronounced (Foid me seaymawr (feed me seymour)) but Cowboys are completely different. All accents are sweet, I think they're really interesting.

i'm english and i try not to treat any nationalities differently, but i have to admit the american accent does always sound a little fake to me, kind of a little bit like they're acting? which is why i sometimes find it hard to tell whether american people are joking or not, and i'm sometimes reluctant to trust what they say.

I guess it would also depend on the regional accent as well, but i really wouldn't be able to say which accents come from which areas so i can't really say

i know thats really bad lol and i would try not to let it affect my service (i work at a hotel so we get americans in every now and then) but that would be my honest answer

I am sure that some people find it endearing and some people find it annoying - just as some American people would find a British person's accent endearing while others find it annoying.

There are rude people everywhere. How you are treated is probably more a result of the attitude of the person you are dealing with and the way you treat others.

Come on, Katrina, be serious. There's the world of difference between educated New York, Boston, etc. and Hillbilly wherever. It's what people say and how they put the message over that counts, not the accent they have, which is important.

It never affected me in my travels. I suppose we are as distinguishable to them as they are to us as far as accented speech. My personal experience in Great Britain and Ireland was very good. Almost all the people I encountered on my travels were polite and hospitable.

It sounds like a twangy southern accent. Basically plug your nose and listen to how you sound. This is what they hear! Not many people out of the USA are big fans of Americans.

yes probably they will think you are of lower class beacuse the "english" accent is thought of as the rich and the "american" is thought of as the low class
