Why do they call it a near miss ... wouldn't you call it a near hit? ... I know another silly question by me! lol

lol mike .. yeah a near missus could be a tad bit dangerous! especially if mr. mister didn't make the wedding!

michael I would have to agree ... it does have more of a dramatic sound to it ... plus is this sayin' kinda like a oxymoron or somethin'? lol

if you ask me it would be that it sounds more dramatic than............................................................................................................. oh my when whoever was throwing those rocks it was a near hit next to my head...... doesnt have the same effect does it...........................oh and by the way thanks for the answer about motorcycles

OK, I think I have a silly answer. They call it a near miss because if they called it a near mister, it would seem most awkward....LOL ;-)....A near missus might be even worse!LOL;-)

You did not hit the center of the bullseye, you hit on the edge of the bullseye, nearly missed, but still hit. If you were barely out of the bullseye, you nearly hit, but still missed.
