At school (I attended a junior college, BTW), I see MANY beautiful Vietnamese females (and I ain't gonna lie; I'm a flirtatious dude!) and I want to tell them "You're beautiful" in Vietnamese. (BTW, if you're Vietnamese and/or you know any Vietnamese, you had better NOT tell me to say the inappropiate thing! Not being mean, just so you know.)

I am trying to figure out the different ways to use the word "know" correctly in Spanish. Please help me with these sentences and let me know if I am using it the wrong way. Thanks!

1. Susan conoce Robert (I wasn't sure if it was like this or if I needed an "al" as in: Susan conoce al Robert)

2. Los conoce bien ("Knows them well"?)

3. Quien conoce? ("Who knows?" or would it be "Quien sabe?")

4. Quien sabía cosas muchos? ("Who knew many things?")

5. Quien los conoce? ("Who knows them?")

6. Ella conoce muchos gente ("She knows many people"?)

A friend of a friend referred to me as a 'spunk' today.
My friend now says I should ask her out on a date, but for my own satisfaction, I'd like to know if this word is meant in a complimentary or derogatory way, just so I don't look like an idiot if I make an approach and she didn't mean it in a complimentary way??
Thanks for your help

Would you please give me a definition of the verb 'trutinate' and also introduce me a website/dictionary that lists the definition?

The verb's noun form 'trutination' means "act of weighing" according to this website [http://dictionary.reference.co... but I cannot distinguish whether the 'weigh' means "determine the weight of", "balance in the mind", "choose carefully"...etc or not.

Thank you for your time and help!

Identify all of the adverbs. Then, indicate the word each adverb modifies.

1. A glow just barely appears on the northern horizon.
2. Lights move unexpectedly fast across the sky.
3. A glowing curtain of light forms more cearly.
4. It arches father forward.
5. It swirls and dances somewhat closer to the Earth.
6. I watch very quietly in awe.
7. I have only just comprehended the beauty of the night sky.
8. The light starts to move more quickly away from us.
9. The glow is almost completely gone.
10. The Northern Lights will never completely disappear from my memory.

My problem is recognizing the adjectives. For example, in #2, is "fast" an adj. or adv.? I think it's an adverb, because "move" is not a linking verb nor a sense verb. Is this correct? I can recognize the adverbs, but I'm having difficulty figuring out which ones are adjectives.

I do not need all of the answers. Just which sentences have adverbs that modify adjectives.

I am fairly intelligent and am looking at the commitment of time to realistically learn conversational Spanish.

I know it will differ by person, but has anyone done it in say...a year or less? If so how?
