Exactly what is your question ?
About the first one, what for ? You would lose the benefits of other languages.
About the teacher, I don't know what did the teacher ask you. I cannot help you this way. I need more information

Look at what you are saying:

"..actually askin me, I didnt know, Can U help..................?"

What is "askin"???
"didn't" has an apostrophe in it.
What is "U"???

That certainly isn't English!!!!!

And what about all the words we've adopted from foreign countries?
For example...if we were all using English only, what words would we use for:
Chow mein (Chinese)?
Apartheid (Dutch)?
Amen (Hebrew)?
Paprika (Hungarian)?
Graffiti (Italian)?
Banana (Spanish)?

Do you get my point?

Language is a virus.
It continued to evolve and mutate.
English is a conglomeration of many international sources.

Besides - what about the native Americans?
Where would we have been without their native language during World War Two?
Go study up on how they saved our white butts during that time...do a Google search for "code talkers".

The world has various languages primarily due to geographical cultural, economical and historical differences. I'm a proud Filipino girl and I speak english but we as a nation can better communicate and express or exchange ideas with each other using our native language.
Maybe your teacher is asking you to appreciate proper english and also respect other languages. A progressive language evolves and assimilates other languages. No offense meant but Latin is already a dead language used only by the church and scientists for obfuscation purposes. The english language is dominant currently because many people use it, because many countries were previously colonized by english-speaking nations.
When you learn other languages, you grow intellectually and save yourself from stagnation, stunted maturity and individual obsolesence.

Occidental kind of life isn't even that related with the english the 2 mother languages of occidental world are Latin and Greek, Spanish, French, Romanian, Portuguese, Italian etc, are "Romances" languajes ( derives from the Roman empire), so you have to study a little more

Perhaps if we learn to talk properly, instead of saying words like "askin," and "U," then we might be able to communicate in a much more professional manner. If you're speaking Ebonics to someone that speaks Ivoronics, then of course there would be a conflict of understanding.

Sweetie, it wouldn't kill you to know a language other than English! Not EVERYONE in this world is going to learn or speak English although English is the most dominant language in the world! If you want to become friends with or date someone whose first language isn't English or explain to them what's going on in your community (ESPECIALLY when they move there), then you're gonna HAVE TO learn how to speak their language. That's the way of the world!

i really agree with your question...

well we all can't talk english because in differn't countries there is a differn't language (i feel the same way) but anyways in the differn't countries they are supposed to learn that language even in some countries its called disrespectful to their beleives, but the world is working on it in some jobs they say that you can only talk english and if they talk their language they get fired, and even in schools they try to keep the kids speaking english even if they have spanish,or french (etc.) classes.Hopefully one day the world will only speak english i think it would be alot easier so i do really agree with you

hope this helped.

Your one of those ignorant people who doesn't want to learn and wants everything handed to her in a silver plate. Thats why someone who is bilingual is going to take your job someday because they will be able to assist more customers. Your just another lazy *** American I'm guessing or Americanized at least. The only people who has everything within reach to learn and don't take advantage of it.

it would be boring, that's why - anybody who wants to be an active part of today's political/economic world has at least a passing grasp of the english language, but then non-anglophone parts of the world have their own deeply ingrained cultures, which are highly interactive with their languages...
