You can imagine various situations when you hear these Japanese words. The followings are only some of examples:-

「あなたが元気か知りたい。」
(Ah-nah-tah-gah gehnkih-kah shih-rhi-tah-ih)

「君は大丈夫か知りたい。」
(kih-mih-wah dah-ih-joh-uh-buh-kah shi-rih-tah-ih)

For your reference, I took "you" in your question to be singular(not plural).

The phrase "Daijyobu" (I don't know how to spell it) means "Are you okay?" I don't know about the "I need to know" part.
