We're learning about the negative expressions in class right now...

My teacher was explaining that personne and rien can be used as subjects. However, I was wondering if you can help me with some of the questions. I think I got it, but I'm not quite sure I'm doing it right.

The questions are:
1.) Est-ce que quelqu'un vous a tellephone dans l'apres-midi?
2.) Est-ce que quelque chose d'important a disparu?
3.) Est-ce que quelqu'un est venu reparer l'electricite recemment?
4.) Est-ce qu'il y avait quelque chose de grande valeur dans votre appartment?

Are these answers right?
1.) Non, personne ne m'a telephone.
2.) Non, rien n'a disparu.
3.) Non, personne n'est venue. (<--does past participle of venir suppose to be venue, since personne is feminine?)
4.) Non, il n'y avait rien. (Or is it "Non, rien n'a disparu.")

I wasn't really sure whether or not to add ne/n' before the a/est...

Hey,
I know Spanish,French and Hindi and was looking for another language to learn in my spare time.
In terms of number of people who speak it, would Brazilian or European Portuguese help you more? If you learned one, but needed the other, could you switch over easily? Finally, what dialect do they speak in Africa?

From my experience, when you guys don't care about something, you say "I could care less". Now lets all think about that together. Yes, it means that you do care! The correct phrase, and the one I use (I am South Africa) is "I couldn't care less". That means that I could not possible care less than what I do, and therefore, I care very little! Someone explain this to me because I just don't get it!

Here are some sentences that I tried to translate, please help me correct them!

Why is the man so fat?: Por qué es el hombre así gordo?

It's because he eats and drinks so much.: Lo es porque come y bebe así mucho.

What is it he eats?: Qué es lo come?

And what is it he drinks?: Y que es lo bebe?

Do you eat butter?: Comes usted mantequilla?

I eat very little butter, almost never: Come muy poco mantequilla, casi nunca.

I don't drink creme: Yo no bebo créma

Why don't you eat butter and drink creme?: Por qué tú no comes mantequilla y bebes créma?

Because I don't want to get fat: Porque no quiero engordarme.

Why don't you want to get fat?: Por qué no quieros engordarme?

Because I don't want to be fat like the man is: Porque no quiero ser gordo como es el hombre.
