Does anyone know any good birthday phrases to put into a home made card for a girl that is turning 12? And if it makes it easier, I'm a friend so you don;t have to worry about things with "mother" or "grandmother" or anything like that in it! Thanks! =)

"We DO NOT want you to trim our palm trees. Please DO NOT ring the doorbell & ask to trim them."

See, people are constantly coming to the door, ringing the doorbell and asking to trim our palm trees. Whenever the doorbell rings, it scares my son. Sometimes it scares him out of a nap. It's really aggravating. The reason I want it translated is because the vast majority of the solicitors are Spanish speakers.

And PLEASE, don't just go to a translating website. I already tried it and it doesn't seem to be coming out right. I want it in authentic language, not some "close enough" website.

Ok that's an hipotetical question, but I really need your help.

Mario, who is a very agitated person, started working in an office but he couldn't stand the tedium and quit. Now he's unemployed and sad.

In a situation like that, if someone is trying to be encouraging but also a bit ironic, is it correct so say something like:

Come on, Mario, don be sad, you're really a very talented person. But, you know, it's not sat on a chair that you do your best.

I'm in doubt about the "it's not sat on a chair that you do your best".

I translated that from portuguese but I don't know if it makes any sense in english.

How should I say something like that in english?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Arabic and Hebrew are very similar languages, they may be quite different today but in the biblical times the resemblance was astonishing and one only wonders whether these two come from the same root language or if one derived from the other ???
