If you study Chinese, it may be helpful to understand Korean later on...there are some similarities. Also, I heard that many road signs in older parts of Korea are written in Chinese. Japanese is very different from both...although there are scholars who say they all share a common root. I speak Mandarin, and don't understand much Korean, but when I hear Korean spoken slowly, I can figure out what is being said some of the time. If you study Japanese first though, you may face some animosity if you have an older professor due to the WWII thing. I run across some Taiwanese and Chinese people who to this day dislike the Japanese for the past, before they were even born.

Chinese ang Janpanese look like each other . what I want to say is if you know chinese, you almost have no problems reading Janpanese, because Janpanese actually comes from Chinese.
And I want to warn you, at the beginning you may be feel Janpanese is easier, but the more you learn , the more difficult it is . You will find yourself already lose your interest before you can say a whole sentense.
good luck!asian culture is fascinating, not only on the food and language, but also the way people live !!

I will suggest you to apply through CUCAS, CUCAS is a professional online platform for international students to apply for Chinese universities, it has a strong relationship with over 300 universities in China. They do not ask for any fee, the application fee is collect by them but only on behalf of the university, CUCAS also hold social activities for international students so they will not get bored, they always try to think as a foreigner and help international students to solve their problems. Very nice.

I would definitely recommend taking the one you will use the most, not the one that is easiest. My college roommate took Japanese and loved it. I would definitely take the intro level course your Senior Year in HS because you will have such a leg up when you go into college. Good luck.
